Week of December 1st
Every Voice, Every Heart, Every Day
What an outstanding Harvest Festival. It is always such a wonderful multigenerational event. Our returning retirees, Sunrise Singers, Sunset Tappers, and students came together and created an experience that felt joyful and connected. It was exciting to learn that the number of languages spoken within the Sanborn community has reached 40!
This time of year always reminds me of the many things at Sanborn School that I am thankful for. Above all, I am grateful for our community of students, staff, and families. This is what makes Sanborn such an amazing place to be.
Just a reminder that we have an early release on Wednesday, December 3 at 12:15.
It is hard to believe that winter break is only three and a half short weeks away. There is so much learning ahead in this short stretch. Hopefully the weather cooperates. I am crossing my fingers.
Holiday Giving 2025
Here come the holidays! While this time of year is filled with joy, it can also bring added financial stress for some families. This year we are again partnering with the PTO to gather Market Basket, Walmart, and Target gift cards to help Sanborn families with holiday gifts and essentials.
If you’re in a position to give, even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference. Your generosity helps ensure that every family in our community can experience a brighter, less stressful holiday season.
If your family could use support—or if you’d like to donate—please use the links below to sign up. All contributions are given anonymously, and all recipient information will remain strictly confidential.
If you need financial assistance please share your information confidentially here:

2nd Grade Literal and Figurative Hearts
Ms. Price's class completed their first module in the Arts and Letters program: What does having a great heart mean, both literally and figuratively? In the program, there are special lessons, called bookends at the beginning and end of the module to engage the students. Ms. Price's class celebrated by inviting a special guest speaker and expert on the subject, Dr. Kirk MacNaught, the Chief of Cardiology at Lowell General Hospital. The class engaged in hands-on activities and watched video clips that explained concepts of the heart. They also constructed clay models and diagrams of the heart. The children asked thoughtful questions about his job and made meaningful connections to what they are learning in the classroom.
