Second Graders Report for Duty!
On Thursday and Friday the 2nd graders took a walking field trip to the Arlington Heights Police Department. With this important, authentic work outside of the classroom, the children were able to deepen their understanding of the community around us. Students saw firsthand how the police department works, how it helps our community members stay safe, and how they help citizens solve problems every day. Special thanks to the parent volunteers who were able to join the second graders, and make this field trip possible!
Our First Graders Had a Smashing Pumpkin Day!
This week, first graders had a blast celebrating our annual Pumpkin Day! Each student brought in a pumpkin to investigate, making predictions about its height, weight, and circumference before measuring and weighing to see how close they were. We even tested whether pumpkins float or sink and watched a fun video to find out! To top it all off, our amazing volunteers helped students bring their creative designs to life as they decorated their pumpkins. It was a fun-filled day of learning and creativity!
Reminder: Student Safety and ICE-related Concerns
Student safety remains a top priority in District 25. All schools are safe and welcoming for every student and family, with district procedures in place to support students’ safety and learning in the event of any ICE-related incident. The district will continue to share information with families to reinforce our commitment to keeping students safe.
