CKE recently wrapped up it's One School, One Book program with a fun-filled Family Night!
A special thank you to PawZone for sharing an engaging presentation about their therapy dogs—and for giving our students and families the chance to meet and interact with them.
We are also incredibly grateful to the Claysburg Education Foundation for generously providing every student and staff member with a copy of Fenway and Hattie!
PBIS Pop‑Up Fun!
Our school took PBIS to new heights with a surprise airplane pop‑up event! Students showed responsibility, respect, and readiness—and their positive choices helped them soar. Way to go to all our grade‑level and overall winners!
A big thank you to the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Quintet for visiting CKE yesterday. They gave a performance to students, demonstrating various instruments in the orchestra and how they work together to create music. The players demonstrated each instrument's sound and played pieces of music that emulated different animals and their environments.
It was a wonderful afternoon of music and learning!
The Explore And Enrich Club had the opportunity to explore the fine arts department at Saint Francis University today. They experienced a drum circle with world renowned drummer and Saint Francis professor, Jim Donovan. They also got a tour from band director Jonathan Neff, and a visit with theater director, April Beiswenger.
The PBIS group sponsored a presentation Thursday featuring Officer Brock Benson from the PA Fish and Boat Commission. He spoke about some of the wildlife in our waters that are native to Pennsylvania. The students especially enjoyed being able to handle some of these creatures.
