Peterborough Elementary School
May 31, 2024
Dear Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you well. It is hard to believe that today is the last day of May! Wow, the end of the school year is fast approaching. This week, our 4th graders were visited by student ambassadors from SMS as part of their transition into middle school. Students and school counselors from SMS visited every 4th grade class, provided a presentation, talked about the schedule and opportunities in middle school, and answered questions. Students will be visiting SMS for their Fly-Up Day on June 10th. Please contact your child's teacher for details.
With the final weeks upon us, I know classes have scheduled a few field trips. Permission slips will be going home soon (if they haven't already). It is really important for those to come back signed by a legal guardian. For details about any field trips, please contact your child's teacher.
Finally, parents/guardians of 4th graders, please save the date for the 4th Grade Celebration scheduled for Thursday, June 13 beginning at 1:00 in the gymnasium. We will recognize and honor our 4th graders as they are moving on from PES. We hope you will join us.
Have a great weekend,
Larry Pimental

Everyone Loves the Carnival
Our theme at All-School Meeting this Friday morning was "The Carnival"! Mrs. Castor, Ms. Pignatiello, and Ms. Varga were the ring leaders, while students and staff played games and showed off some of their skills. It was a lot of fun! And Bobby the Bobcat made an appearance, much to the delight of our students!
Girls on the Run
Our Girls on the Run team will participate in a 5K race in Concord this Saturday. There will be over 3000 girls running from teams all over New Hampshire. Girls on the Run is a national non-profit organization, that designs programming to strengthen third- to fifth-grade girls’ social, emotional, physical, and behavioral skills to navigate life experiences successfully. Thank you, volunteer coaches, Adine Aldrich, Kaitlyn Morris, Krystal Buckley, Nicole Jackson, and lead coach Kristen Seitz!
Field Day is Coming- June 7th
We are excited about Field Day! Mrs. Morris is planning a great morning filled with fun and active games. Students should bring a change of clothes, a hat, a water bottle, and should have sunscreen applied before arriving to school. PES is also partnering with the PES PTO to bring the Kona Ice Truck to school that day for a cool, icy treat in the afternoon. If your child cannot have, or you prefer that they don't have an icy treat from Kona Ice, please reach out to me so we can still do something special.
Reading With Ribby Update
Thanks to all the students who participated in the Reading With Ribby Challenge. Over 100 students completed the challenge and will be receiving a T-shirt and a family pass to a Keene Swampbats baseball game. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12th at Aulmni Field in Keene. Parents are asked to arrive by 5:15pm at the latest. Parking lots fill up fast, and the parade will start promptly at 5:50pm. We don't want anyone to miss the parade! Students will meet their schools behind the big green grandstands. Look for the PES sign and banner!
