"Friendship Day" - February 13, 2025: Sharing With Friends! 🥰
Parents and Guardians,
Scholars are excited to share smiles, joy, and love towards their peers. Thursday, February 13th is "Friendship Day" at Thompson Elementary. Your scholars will exchange treats and things in their classrooms. Please reach out to your scholar's teacher to get an accurate count of the number of peers in their class. This is not a party, but an opportunity to pause and share with friends.
Thank you all in advance for supporting your scholar's teacher(s) and continuing to partner with us at TES!
February 14, 2025
I am excited to share that I am one Proud Principal! Your scholar's teacher(s) have been working tirelessly to push their academic and behavioral growth. Ultimately, we are focused on achievement; that is every scholar at Thompson Elementary performing on or above grade level in all subjects. During your conference, the teacher will be sharing data from the MAP, mClass, and Circle Assessments. These are the Middle of the Year Assessments (MOY). They will also share how you can help your scholar continuously grow at home.

Attendance, Appointments, and Tardies
The state of Texas has a mandatory Attendance Requirement of 90%. Please know that under the Compulsory Attendance Law, all students must be in attendance at least 90% of the time they've been enrolled in a public school. In order to receive credit for a final grade for a class, a student is required to attend class 90 percent of the days a class is offered regardless of whether the student's absences are excused ] or unexcused.
Please click to veiw the requirements!
Be sure to contact our Attendance Clerk regarding your child being absent for any reason.
Appointments & Excuses
If your child has a doctor's appointment, please try to schedule it after snapshot attendance time at 9:30am. Any student who arrives after 9:30am is counted absent, regardless of what type of appointment it is. However, it is recommended that in this instance, you still provide the documentation for any medical appointments to ensure the absence has been resolved versus left unexcused. Unexcused absences do not tell the story. But doctors' notes and parent notes do! Please submit doctor's excuses and parent notes within three days of the absence.
Tardies
School starts at 8:00AM. We have free breakfast each day and students can arrive as early as 7:35am! Students who are late, enter the room frustrated or off task, causing a disruption to the instructional day. Help our scholars learn meaningful lessons about life and work, by getting them to school on time to assist them in getting a GREAT START!

Spring ISD Requirements
Student IDs Mandatory
Starting this school year, student IDs are mandatory for all Spring ISD students. IDs for elementary students must be worn on a lanyard and be visible at all times. All students will receive an ID and lanyard during the first two weeks of school. Once the IDs have been delivered to the campus, we will send out detailed information.
Important Updates to the Spring ISD Student Code of Conduct
Spring ISD has a Student Code of Conduct to promote a safe and disciplined learning environment for every student that will be strictly enforced on our campus. Therefore, please review with your family these standards of conduct along with the disciplinary consequences for infractions.
Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and I ask you, as parents, to partner with us by speaking with your children about appropriate behavioral expectations to ensure a positive learning environment in our school.
TES Car Rider Administrator Corner: Line Closes at 3:40 P.M.
Updated Instructional Calendar As Of 9/2/2024!
TES TRAFFIC REMINDERS: Safety, Security, & TES Traffic Flow Plan
Your continued support is needed with following the established safety protocols set on campus to ensure the safety of all scholars.
1. When dropping scholars off to campus, please do not leave scholars on the school property before 7:35am as there will be no adult supervision before that time.
2. Please do not drop your scholars off on the curb or sidewalk. Please utilize the car rider line to ensure a potential accident does not happen.
3. If you walk your scholars to school, please do not enter through the doors beyond the cones but rather stop and allow your scholars to enter and walk to class.
4. If you drop your scholar off after 8:05a, you must walk them into the building and sign them in at the front office.
It is necessary that all protocols are followed daily and consistently to ensure the safety of all scholars and staff. We appreciate your diligence and support.
Thank you,
Principal Day
