Note from the Principal
Dear Memorial Middle School Parents,
Memorial will be conducting fall parent teacher conferences on Tuesday, October 3rd and Thursday, October 5th from 4:15 to 8:00 p.m. In-person conferences are available on both evenings. Parent teacher conferences are a great time for teachers and parents to connect and have conversations about student’s academic progress while sharing information about the student’s strengths, needs, and learning styles. A SignUpGenius link for each Team's conference times has been made available in the last two editions of the Friday Night Highlights weekly email.
There will be people available during both conferences sessions in the Memorial Library to help parents set up a Canvas account. Please stop by if you have not created your Parent Canvas account as it will only take about 5 minutes.
Students completed the fall MAP Growth Assessment in Reading and Math. Results will be sent home with students toward the end of the week. Please use this link to access additional information about the assessment and results:

On October 16th, Memorial Middle School will be kicking off our annual Butter Braid school wide fundraiser. The money raised will be used for student incentives, to purchase new seating for students in the library, as well as purchasing instructional materials for classrooms. Students will bring home a Butter Braid sales form on Monday, October 16th. The last day of sales will be Monday, October 30th, and Butter Braids will be delivered to school for pick up on Monday, November 13th.
Thank you for all you do to support your child(ren) and Memorial Middle School and we look forward to seeing you at fall parent teacher conferences.
Sincerely,
Dr. Demi Moon, Principal

Our Mission: As professional school counselors we help provide an environment in which students can achieve academic, career, and personal/social success. It is our goal and challenge to help students “Become the Best Version of Themselves.”
October is Bullying Prevention Month
Here at Memorial, our staff is committed to stopping & preventing bullying.
The bullying circle shows that everyone can either be part of the problem or part of the solution when in these situations.
If there are concerns about bullying behaviors at school, please contact an administrator or counselor about the concern. Students can also submit a report on our school’s Memorial Middle School Student-Parent Canvas Page. Once on the page, students click on “Student Information,” then “Student Report Form.”

Healthy Sleep Habits - Resources
How do I help my middle schooler overcome challenges and grow as a person? Much of this depends on the mindset of the individual and family. The following are resources about developing something Dr. Carol Dweck calls a “Growth Mindset (video):”
