What a Fun Week Learning About Families! 🏠🐾

This week was all about celebrating our families! We read wonderful stories like The Family Book, Saturday, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother, Too?. Through movement games like 4 Corners and "Stand Up, Sit Down," we explored how families are similar and different, while practicing our graphing skills.

We also talked about household jobs (singing and acting them out to "This is the Way..."), reflected on how pets are part of our families, and put on our thinking caps to help Goldilocks make better choices!

Questions to ask at home this week:

  • "If Goldilocks visited our house, what advice would you give her about making good choices?"

  • "What is a job you do to help our family at home?"

  • "What do you think makes an animal a pet instead of a wild animal?"

4 Corner Family Jobs

Each wall had a family member sign, mom, dad, me, and others and then we said a job like

  • who does the laundry,
  • who takes out the trash,
  • who makes your bed, etc.
We moved to the side that showed what happens in your family! It was great to see how families are all unique! We all do the same jobs but different people help.
