🌱 Zero Waste Educator of the Year, Katy Cannon!! 🌱
We’re thrilled to share that Alberton’s fifth-grade teacher, Katy Cannon, has been named Educator of the Year at Home ReSource’s inaugural Zero Waste Awards!
Last school year, Katy’s fifth graders served as “Zero Waste Ambassadors” for the Alberton community. They began with a visit to Home ReSource in Missoula to learn about the materials cycle and continued through four hands-on field trips to Free Cycles Missoula, where each student built a bike while learning about simple machines, mechanics, and reuse. To date, the program has brought more than 50 bikes to Alberton, provided helmets and water bottles, and even helped several students learn to ride for the first time.
Congratulations, Katy, for inspiring a generation of learners to repair, reuse, and reimagine what’s possible!
🏐 Great Season to Our Junior High Volleyball Team 🏐
Our junior high volleyball team closed out their season with two well-fought games against Lincoln on Friday. The girls have shown tremendous growth and teamwork since the start of the season. We’re proud to have them as part of Panther Athletics and excited to watch them continue to grow through our volleyball program. A big thank you to Coach Chelsea and Coach Georgia for their leadership and dedication!

Amanda Cyr Takes the Helm at Alberton School
Amanda Cyr has officially stepped into her dual role as principal and superintendent of Alberton School, bringing with her decades of experience in Montana education.
After 21 years in the Clinton School District—teaching, serving as principal, and then superintendent—Cyr says she was drawn to Alberton by the opportunity for fresh challenges and a shorter commute.
She’s quickly working to build relationships with students and staff, emphasizing consistency, structure, and community-focused leadership.
Her guiding philosophy?
“I do what’s best for kids.”
