Welcome Adrien Lemay
Hello, my name is Adrien Lemay. I am a new teacher here at Anthony. Last year, I finished up my teacher preparation program at the University of Minnesota. I grew up nearby in South Minneapolis and from 2007-2009, I actually attended Anthony! I am proud to say that I am now on staff and am working alongside some of my former teachers. For interests, I enjoy playing video games, watching movies, spending time with friends, and being a history nerd.

Art at Anthony
Art is thriving here at Anthony! Students in all Art classes are learning a bit of Art History, developing their technical skills, applying creative problem solving, and making some great work!
7/8th grade rotation classes are finishing up a big unit focusing on traditional pen and ink. These landscape artworks helped them learn about composition, value (light and dark), texture, atmospheric perspective and how to create the illusion of space. Earlier in the semester we had units that focused on ceramics, color theory in painting, 2 point perspective, and still life.
6th grade rotation students have had a wide variety of projects that focus on developing their skills and applying them towards fun, increasingly challenging projects. These included: surrealist one point perspective, contour and complementary shading, ceramics, portraiture, collage and watercolor painting.
The after school mural class is also working on a large mural on the floor level. The students brainstormed all of the ideas and came up with a great design!
We have lots of fun, challenging projects in store in the coming months. Stay tuned!
