GRADE LEVEL UPDATES
Please continue to work your child on sights and completing homework each week.
First Grade: Hello from First Grade! Next week, we will be focusing on fiction texts and we will continue with tens and ones in math. We will also keep learning about how Christmas is celebrated around the world. Please remember to read daily, as well as practice sight words and study spelling words.
Second Grade: Greetings from Second Grade! Next week we will continue to read poetry, songs, and stories that have rhythm and rhyme. Students will learn how to tell time to the 5 minutes. Lastly, we will begin learning about Christmas traditions around the world and how those traditions have helped to shape America’s identity. Please continue to read AR books, study spelling and sight words, and practice basic math facts daily.
Resource:
Art: Our awesome little artists have been working on Christmas projects this week! Don't forget on PTA night to walk down the 2nd grade hallway to see what all the students would like for Christmas!!!!
Music: Tiger Troupe is excited to perform Tuesday night, December 6th, for PTA and again for the student body on Wednesday afternoon. The play “The Littlest Christmas Tree” will be a delight! (Tiger Troupe, remember all of your attire requirements for both performances!) The annual “All Sing” will be on December 14th during the afternoon. This week, classes enjoy participating in “Drum Circle”. This activity allows all students to play 22 different instruments with various timbres! Students improvise while demonstrating correct technique.
