First Week: A Great Success

While it was a short week, the students have already readjusted to the new school year with confidence and ease. It was a pleasure chatting with our Panthers as they circulated in the halls, caught up with friends, and started to settle into their new routines. The positive energy and excitement were truly contagious.

Our students also had the opportunity to meet with their counselors, class advisors, and administrators during their grade-level meetings. This was a valuable time to review school rules and expectations, ensuring everyone is on the same page for a successful year.

I am incredibly proud of how our students conducted themselves throughout this first week. Their positive behavior and enthusiasm made for a wonderful start. Based on the fantastic energy that filled the halls, I have no doubt that this year will be a great success. I can't wait to watch each of our students grow, learn, and succeed over the course of this school year.

A Great Start to the School Year A Great Start to the School Year

Thank you to our Peer Leaders, their advisors, and the CGHS Cheerleaders who assisted with New Panther Orientation. Our newest Panthers were able to get a warm welcome to CGHS and start making new memories.

The Class of 2029 is off and running, and we could not be more excited to have them officially join the CGHS family.

Italian Honor Society Students Give Back! Italian Honor Society Students Give Back!

Our Italian Honor Society students spent the last week of August volunteering at the historic St. Sebastian Feast in Montclair. This annual Italian celebration, affiliated with Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, has been a Montclair tradition for the past 99 years.

The students did a great job using their community service hours to promote Italian language and culture. Their efforts mark a fantastic start to their senior year as members of the Italian National Honor Society (INHS) at Cedar Grove High School. The feast, which honors St. Sebastian, a Roman soldier known for protecting Christians, will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.

Lastly, starting in the 2025-2026 school year, all New Jersey public school districts had to create and adopt a new spectator code of conduct covering specific guidelines from the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. Cedar Grove continues to have one of the best and most supportive athletic communities in the state. Our school community continues to help instill the values we want in our student-athletes, including sportsmanship, character, and class. I ask that you please review the following new spectator code of conduct to help ensure our athletic events continue to be first-class, supportive, and sportsmanlike: CG Spectator Code of Conduct Policy
