Otter Fun Run is October 2nd!
It’s time! You can sign up your student for our Otter Fun Run! Our goal is to raise $17,000 for T-shirts, field trips, school events, and teacher appreciation. Signing up is easy and comes with a fun prize for your student!

Volunteer at Mississippi
Hi Families!
It takes a village to make our school year run smoothly and we would love to have you join us in making it a successful start! We currently have a variety of ways for parents, guardians and students to get involved:
- Lunchroom Support: Our lunch staff are hoping for some extra hands in the lunchroom for KINDERGARTEN help kids learn lunchroom routines, enter pin numbers, open milk cartons, etc. Dates and times are listed in the signup.
- Workroom Support: Our staff have some projects like copies, sharpening pencils, assembling kits, etc that they could use your help with in the workroom. This can be done at your convenience during school hours. Our scheduled date is each Thursday but please email me at tina.fletcher@ahschools.us if you prefer a different day of the week.
- PTO Childcare: We are looking for 2 high school students to come in and provide childcare while our Mississippi PTO meets on the 3rd Monday of each month. Our first meeting is on September 21st from 6:15pm-7:30pm. Please sign up for any dates available.
All volunteers 18 and older need to complete a volunteer application and background check release each school year. Student volunteers need to complete a volunteer application each school year.

Safety in the drop-off and pick-up loop ❗
Thank you for your patience during student pick-up. The process can take a bit longer during the first two weeks. Please note that
- Students should NEVER cross the street except at a crosswalk
- The driveway can only be accessed with a right hand turn from Flora street
- Staff are not available before 8:45, students should not be dropped off earlier.
- Students must be picked up by 3:40 after school.
