DaVinci Connection
November 22, 2024
📢 A Message from Antonio
Greetings, DaVinci Families. I will keep this brief as I know the Principals also have a wonderful message for you below. I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude as we head into the November break. I have spoken with staff about change and the fact that it is never easy. The change we are seeing at DaVinci this year is exciting for me as I look forward to the possibilities of the future.
That being said, it is still also scary for me as I continue to learn and grow in this vibrant school community. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to connect with me and share their personal stories and needs. I am grateful for the connections I have made with students and families at DVA. I wish you warm family connections over the November break and I will be enthusiastically waiting to welcome our students, and you back to the building on December 2nd. Thank you again for welcoming me to DVA and trusting us with your children each and every day.

Gratitude
As we approach our break, we can not help but to be grateful. Operating a school, and providing the best possible services and education to our students and families is a huge endeavor. As we reflect on what makes this all possible, the list is extensive. From the drivers that deliver our supplies and our food, from the kitchen staff, from the office staff, from the nurses, from the facilities staff, to our support staff and our talented teachers there is so much to be thankful for this time of year. Then of course there are the amazing students and families that make up our community. We also can not forget our director who is providing direction and encouragement to all. Finally, we are grateful for everything our PTO and our board members do to support our vision.
Recent studies indicate that not only is it good to be grateful but it can work to improve our physical and mental health. Research also indicates that by being grateful it helps to enhance our willingness to trust others.
Here are a few ways of expressing gratitude that you may want to consider with your family.
- A Gratitude Letter- Students can consider someone at school who has been especially kind or helpful to them this year. Have your child write a letter to let this person know how much they mean. (Or you can do this with your family. Write a letter to a family member that you are grateful for and let them know why you are grateful).
- Record a short video- Make a short video telling someone how important they are to you. Tell them how they have impacted your life in a positive way.
- Start a Gratitude Journal. Each week write down three things you are thankful for and why. It is so easy for us to focus on the negative and what is not going well. A Gratitude Journal is a great way to shift our thinking and a way for us to start looking for the positive events and people in our lives.
It has been an incredible start to the school year. We just wanted to pause and thank everyone who has made this tremendous year possible. We wish our family and friends the best as we head off to our break. We see you, we value you, we are glad you are here. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
Thank you!

🩹 Health Office Notes
Hello DaVinci Families,
Medications are kept on-site in the Health Office to ensure students have safe, immediate access to necessary and as-needed treatments during the school day. This includes medicines for chronic conditions like asthma or diabetes, emergency allergies, and over-the-counter medications for headaches, cough, and more.
To ensure student safety, please follow these guidelines when bringing medication to the Health Office:
- Labeling and Packaging: All medication must be in its original, labeled container. Over-the-counter medications need to be in unopened, manufacturer packaging. Prescription medications must include a pharmacy label with the student’s name, medication name, dosage, and administration instructions.
Expiration Dates: Expired medications cannot be accepted. Please double-check expiration dates before bringing medication to school, as we cannot administer any expired medication.
Authorization Forms: An up-to-date medication authorization form, whether prescription or over-the-counter. Prescription medication forms must be signed by both parents and a clinician, and over-the-counter forms require a parent’s signature. These need to be renewed every school year. These forms are available in the Health Office or on our school website.
Please contact the Health Office if you have any questions or need further assistance. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment for all students!
Stay well,
