Welcome Back!
The books have missed you!
I hope that you have all had a restful and joyous summer! I survived a good ol' fashioned road trip with my husband and four kids back in July. I made stops in Zion and Grand Canyon--both of which were stunning! Of course, I had to buy a few books along the way that I am excited to add to our library. (see below)
I highly recommend the book Campout! It has a lot of great activities do while you are camping: art projects, games, sing songs, knot tying, shelter building and so much more. The Oregon & Washington 50 Hikes with Kids book is wonderful if you are looking for local hikes to do with your family. The pictures of the local flora and fauna in this book are great and I feel like I can point things out a bit better now on our hikes. My favorite local hike this summer was to Mirror Lake. My twins, who are now in 2nd grade, really enjoyed the hike as well. If you see me around the GLES halls or splashing in Green Lake, let me know if you have any great local hikes for kids to recommend!
Oh, and just to give you a heads up in your planning for next year, I will be handing out FREE National Park passes to our 4th graders. This pass will allow your entire family into the park for free!
In Other Great News...Our Spring Book Order FINALLY Arrived at GLES!
