Dear Timberwolf Families,
We have lots going on in April at Truedell. We have the Book Fair coming next week, as well as a Family Science Night hosted by School Council. There will also be information coming soon about the annual Jump Rope for Heart event.
At the end of the month, we will be hosting an one hour long EQAO information workshop for families of students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. The Primary Assessment is held at the end of Grade 3 and the Junior Assessment is done at the end of Grade 6. Our students will complete the EQAO assessment at the beginning of June this year. We believe that it is important that families understand what is expected of students during the assessment as it will help to alleviate any stress or anxiety that students may have beforehand. At our school-run workshop, we will provide families with an opportunity to try the practice test and give a basic overview of the assessment. We will also be sharing with families tips and suggestions on reducing stress and anxiety around test-taking that they may experience throughout their academic career on tests, exams and standardized assessments. This is one of a series of workshop topics that was suggested by families on the Truedell School Council. More information will become available in the near future. In the meantime, mark April 30th on your calendar!

The Grade 8's are running a fundraiser to raise money to go towards their graduation. They will be organizing a milkshake day for the whole school. Order a chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry milkshake for $2.50, to support the Graduates of 2025. Milkshakes will be available to purchase through www.school-day.com from Friday March 21st until Monday April 7th, 2025. They will be delivered to classrooms on Thursday April 17th..
