THIS WEEK AT TUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL
🌟 Celebrating Career Pathway Interns! 🌟
On Thursday evening, Tillers and other TUSD students were honored at TUSD’s Career Pathway Internship (CPI) Program, now in its 5th year. Led by Ms. Alita Ray and Dr. Grant Litfin, the program continues to open doors for students by connecting classroom learning to real-world career experiences. This summer, more than 130 students gained hands-on experience through internships across a wide range of industries—including software, aerospace, law, healthcare, and more. The CPI program provides our students with invaluable opportunities to explore career paths, build professional skills, and make meaningful connections with mentors in the field.
👏 Congratulations to all of our student interns for their hard work and success this summer, and thank you to our community and corporate partners for making these opportunities possible!
Fall Reclassification Celebration
On Wednesday, we held a special celebration to honor 49 students who have been reclassified this fall. During the event, Dr. Bojorquez recognized the hard work and dedication of students who have met the rigorous requirements to be reclassified from English Learners to Fluent English Proficient, and spoke about the power of bilingualism in our society. Reclassification means students no longer need to take specialized English Language Development (ELD) classes or the annual English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) exam. Congrats to all the Tillers who reached this significant milestone so far this year and thank you to our teachers and staff for helping them along the way!
Club Rush Highlights Student Opportunities
Our Fall Club Rush featured more than 30 different clubs for students to explore and join! From academic and service organizations to cultural, creative, and recreational groups, there was something for everyone. Club Rush is a great way for students to get involved, discover new interests, and connect with others who share their passions. We encourage all Tillers to take advantage of these opportunities and make the most of their high school experience!
Power 106 Celebrities vs Tillers Basketball Game
Tillers packed out the Pavilion on Thursday night for a fantastic and fun-filled night for a great cause: the Power 106 Celebrity Basketball Game! Our own Tustin High students and staff squared off against the Power 106 All-Stars in a fun game to raise funds for Boys and Girls Basketball and Cheer. During halftime, the crowd was treated to a performances by several artists, adding to the evening's entertainment and making it a truly memorable night for all in attendance. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students and programs!
Senior Sunrise!
Thanks to ASB, more than 230 seniors gathered bright and early on Friday morning to enjoy donuts, hot chocolate and most importantly, time with friends and classmates. Senior Sunrise is the first of several special activities for the Class of 2026. Thank you to Mrs. Sarah Hughes and Mr. Miguel for being our Senior Class Advisors! Check out ASB's Senior Sunrise Instagram reel!
Superintendent Visit
We were honored to host a visit from Dr. Johnson, Superintendent, along with other members of the Tustin Unified School District's school board and Cabinet. The visit focused primarily on our English Learner (EL) classes.
District leadership regularly visits school campuses to gain firsthand insight into the excellent work being done at each site. This collaborative approach allows them to connect with our staff and students, observe our instructional programs in action, and see how district initiatives are being implemented on the ground.

For the thirteenth consecutive year, the Tustin Unified School District is partnering with Tustin
Toyota to increase overall student engagement and attendance by highlighting senior role models.
All seniors who maintain daily engagement, outstanding attendance when healthy, and positive
behavior at each of TUSD’s high schools will be eligible for entrance in a lottery for a new Toyota
Corolla generously donated by Tustin Toyota.
Program Details/Rules/Eligibility:
• All participants in the program must be high school seniors who attend one of TUSD’s

Discipline related absences including excessive tardiness to class or a suspension of any
kind will disqualify a student from the drawing.
• A list of students who remain eligible for the drawing will be available at school attendance
offices at the end of each quarter. A final list of eligible students will be posted one week
prior to the drawing.
• It is a student’s responsibility to monitor their own eligibility and to resolve any
discrepancies with the school attendance office before the end of the school day on
Wednesday, May 13, 2026 (two school days prior to drawing).
• The drawing for the donated vehicle from Tustin Toyota will take place at the TUSD Board
of Education Meeting on Monday, May 18, 2026. Attendance is not necessary at the May
