Aloha Saint Damien ʻOhana,

On October 11, 2026, we proudly begin a new chapter in our school’s history as Saint Damien School.

Our new name honors the canonization of Saint Damien de Veuster, who was declared a saint by Pope Benedict XVI on October 11, 2009. For 17 years, we have celebrated his recognition as a saint, whose extraordinary life of faith, courage, compassion, and service continues to inspire our school community.

While our name has changed from Damien Memorial School to Saint Damien School, our mission remains steadfast. We continue to be guided by the example of Saint Damien, who saw the dignity of every person, served those most in need, and lived his faith through selfless love and action.

As Saint Damien School, we embrace this name not simply as a new identity, but as a renewed commitment to live out his legacy each day—in our classrooms, on our campus, in our community, and throughout the world.

May Saint Damien continue to guide our students, faculty, staff, families, and alumni as we strive to live our motto, Viriliter Age—Act Courageously.

One school. One mission. A legacy of faith, courage, and service. Saint Damien, pray for us.
