In the month of April there were 106 behavioral referrals including 42 majors and 64 minors.
This is down from 180 referrals generated in the month of March. 50 referrals were generated from classroom behaviors, 15 each from playground and hallways, 10 from the cafeteria, and the rest from other locations.
The most common behavior referrals were for physical contact behaviors, defiance, disrespect, and inappropriate language. At this point in the year 77.6% of our students have 1 or fewer behavior referral, 14.1% have 2-5 referrals, and 8.3% have 6 or more.
As we bring this school year to a close any student who does not follow our BARK expectations will lose the opportunity to join in end of year activities. We continue to value your support!
Perfect Attendance
We are excited to announce that we had 109 students across our K-5 school community who received Perfect Attendance for the month of April!
We strongly encourage all our students to be present and on time for school each day! A reminder that if your child is absence to call the main office or email elementaryattendance@mv.org . If there is a change in your child's dismissal, please contact the main office by 2:00 p.m.
Nature Nick
On Thursday, May 8th we learned more about interesting animals from Nature Nick! Some of our students were lucky to hold some of the animals!
Field Day
Our annual Field Day will take place on Monday, May 12th.We ask that all parent spectators stay in the spectator area. Please do not follow your child to each event or block the DJ or main office doors.
Students should come to school wearing sunscreen, sneakers, and have a refillable water bottle.
No student from Grandview may be dismissed early by a parent from the Intermediate School. Any parent wanting to have their child leave early MUST sign them out and pick them up from Grandview. Any student being dismissed early at Intermediate must sign out with Ms. Midge in the office.

This Month in Classroom Champions is all about Leadership
May is all about Leadership! This month, Rosie will teach our students that no matter what age kids are, they have both the power and the potential to change their world. Learning leadership skills encourages students to find their voice, participate confidently in the classroom, give them agency in their learning, and become active, involved members of their community.
Our May Citizen of the Month will recognize students who display great leadership skills this month.
