We are excited to see our students continue to excel, represent us with pride, and strive for top honors once again!
Track & Field - League Champions!
This season was one of the most successful in our track and field program’s history. Both our boys and girls teams finished undefeated in league competition, earning the title of Valle Vista League Champions.
We saw outstanding performances at some of the most competitive meets in the state. Damien Arrieta qualified for and competed at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational, while our boys shuttle hurdle relay team competed at the Mt. SAC Relays and set a new school record. Eunice Vandenberg also broke the school record in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.
Our program showed tremendous depth, with 23 student-athletes traveling to San Diego to compete at the Mt. Carmel Invitational. At the Big Meet in Moreno Valley, both our boys and girls teams captured team championships, highlighting our strength across all events.
We had numerous league champions who also qualified for CIF, including our girls 4x100 relay team of Reese Tao, Vienna Lin, Maryssa Ballesteros, and Eunice Vandenberg; Vienna Lin in the 100-meter hurdles; Ben Situ in the 400; Malana Wien in the 800; Marlon Lugartos in the 200; and Eunice Vandenberg in both the 200 and 300 hurdles. In the field events, Morgan Witt and Damien Arrieta won high jump, Lukas Escobar won pole vault, and Bryce Johnson won both long jump and triple jump. Our boys 4x400 team of Marlon Lugartos, Damien Arrieta, Caleb Benjamin, and Ben Situ, along with our girls 4x400 team of Vienna Lin, Kim Phung, Evie, and Malana Wien, also earned league titles.
Our depth was especially evident in our second- and third-place finishers who qualified for CIF. On the boys side, qualifiers include the 4x100 relay team of Manny, Marlon Lugartos, Nico, and Lawrence; Damien Arrieta in the 110 and 300 hurdles; Caleb Benjamin in the 800; Ben Situ in the 200; Jacob Juarez in the 3200; and Max Rochin and Jeovany Delgado in discus. On the girls side, qualifiers include Malana Wien and Savanna Pablo in the 1600, with Savanna also qualifying in the 3200; Eunice Vandenberg in the 100 hurdles; Vienna Lin in the 300 hurdles; Maryssa Ballesteros in the 200; Kim Phung in the 800; Bella Hastings in discus; and Reese Tao in the pole vault and high jump.
Also placing in the top three were Natalia Garcia in the 400 meters and Reese Tao in the 100 meters, who narrowly missed CIF qualification due to time standards.
Overall, this was a season defined by excellence, depth, and record-breaking achievement. Congratulations to all of our student-athletes and coaches on an incredible year.
