Ratchet Rockers Robotics Team 1706 Heads to World Championships
The Ratchet Rockers, FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 1706, have solidified their status as a top tier global contender following a dominant performance in the 2026 regional season. Comprised of 47 dedicated students representing all four Wentzville School District (WSD) high schools—Holt, Liberty, North Point, and Timberland—the team has officially qualified for the FRC World Championships in Houston, Texas, taking place April 29 through May 2.They will compete against the best teams from around the world, showcasing the engineering, programming, and strategic skills they have honed throughout the season.
An Unbeaten Season and Historic Milestones
The Ratchet Rockers’ journey to the World Championships has been marked by consistent execution and technical brilliance. The team competed in two regional events this season, maintaining an unblemished record and bringing home top honors from both:
Oklahoma Regional (Enid, OK): The team finished Rank 1 with a perfect 16-0-0 record. Serving as the Captain of Alliance 1, they led their partners to a regional victory and earned the Innovation in Control Award sponsored by nVent.
St. Louis Regional (St. Louis, MO): Returning to their home turf, Team 1706 again finished Rank 1 with a 15-0-0 record. As Captain of Alliance 1, they secured their fifth consecutive St. Louis Regional title—setting an all-time record for the most consecutive wins in the history of the St. Louis competition. They also walked away with a second Innovation in Control Award.
