Hello Parents and Families,

Dear Families,

We had such a GREAT first week of school! We saw students learning and demonstrating our schoolwide expectations all across the school! Our car loop ran pretty smoothly - thank you for following the process to help with this!

Below you will find much of the same information as last week. I want to make sure everyone has had a change to read all of the dismissal processes and procedures and I know a lot of information went home last week.

Feel free to reach out with questions or concerns. You can reach me at barnett.sarah@brevardschools.org or by calling the front office at 321-242-6480.

Every Student, Every Day!

Sincerely,

Sarah Barnett

Dismissal Updates

ALL families have been issued two car tags for car loop pickup.

  • EVERYONE should keep these tags. In case of Inclement Weather dismissal, biker/walkers/golf cart riders will be dismissed through the car loop and parents will need car tags for this.
  • If you need more car tags or have gotten yours yet, please come to the office to pick them up before dismissal!

We will be going back to calling names on walkies.

  • For everyone’s safety and to help dismissal run smoothly, cars will need to remain one behind the other in a single lane while waiting in the car loop.
  • Please do not pull around or pass another vehicle. Staying in line helps us keep students safe and ensures a smooth and efficient dismissal for everyone.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation! 💙

Inclement Weather Dismissal

If it is raining but there is no lightning, students will be released like normal. We encourage students who walk or bike home to have rain gear in their backpacks.

If there is severe weather in the area, or lightning, we will call an Inclement Weather Dismissal. This will be communicated to parents via email and text using Focus. When Inclement Weather is called, no student may be dismissed biker/walker/golf cart. Students will be dismissed through the car loop and all cars will need a car tag.

Please note that we will stop checking students out 30 minutes prior to dismissal. Monday through Thursday this will be 2:00 and on Fridays that will be 1:00. This is a routine practice and will continue on Inclement Weather Days. For the safety of staff and students, parents must remain in their vehicles when going through the car loop. Please do not walk up to the car loop.

Please keep your car tag for days like this. If you need more car tags, custodial parents can come with an ID and pick up more any day.

Clinic Updates

Dear Parents,

Please make sure your child has a complete change of clothes in their backpack each day. This includes older students who may occasionally have accidents or spills.

Due to limited storage space, the school is unable to keep extra clothing in a variety of sizes. If your child does not have a change of clothes available when needed, a parent or guardian will be contacted to bring one to school.

Thank you for your cooperation and help in ensuring your child is comfortable throughout the school day.

Parent Lunches

We will start parent lunches after Labor Day in September. This will give us time to learn process and procedures around the school and then to get our FAST progress monitoring underway.
