❓ R10 Most Asked Questions ❓
The appeals window will be open from August 12 to September 12 in TEAL based on data errors attributable to the vendor(s), REA or ESC.
❓ Who can make changes to AskTED?
The TED Administrator, you can find out who this is on AskTED. Search by District, Personnel, Include Other District Roles, TED Administrator
Charter Schools may email CharterAskTED@tea.texas.gov

❓ What is TPRS? Is it the same as TAPR?
The Texas Performance Reporting System (TPRS) integrates state and federal reporting requirements into a single reporting system that can be viewed at the campus, district, region, and state level. As the most comprehensive reporting system published by TEA, TPRS provides additional performance reports, results, and indicators for student groups not previously reported on state accountability data tables, the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), or the School Report Card. TPRS is the enhanced online version of TAPR. It has been recently updated with Remote vs. In-Person Data. TEAL Accountability application will show you unmasked data.
The TPRS Glossary provides definitions, describes methodologies, and lists sources for each tab in the TPRS system.
Update District Contacts in AskTed
Please remember to update AskTED with any changes for the 2022-2023 school year.
Check to make sure you have a DTC and an Accountability contact in AskTED and that they are current. Only 40% of Region 10 districts have someone listed for the Accountability district contact.
TEA, Student Assessment, Performance Reporting, and the ESC use these lists to relay important information to districts.

Employment Opportunities in Performance Reporting
The Performance Reporting Division is looking for people to join our team. Interested and qualified candidates can apply for the following positions:
Programmer Analyst (Programmer III)
This role supports customers in acquiring useful assessment data to make informed decisions about student performance outcomes on statewide assessments. This work is critical to improving outcomes for students by providing accurate performance data to students and school districts. Using technical skills and knowledge of assessments, the Programmer Analyst writes, revises, and implements complex SAS programs to create, combine, manage, and analyze datasets containing results of standardized tests. The work produced by the programmer is included in analytic reports for publication, provided to customers requesting public information as well as internal ad hoc requests within the agency. An important aspect of delivering customers with quality data and information involves the Programmer Analyst performing quality control work verifying accuracy of analysis and written reports.
Programmer/Data Analyst (Programmer IV)
This role serves as a senior-level programmer and data analyst in the Rating and Reporting Systems unit of the Division of Performance Reporting. The Programmer/Data Analyst performs complex programming tasks to create and analyze datasets for the state accountability rating systems. The work involves creating and maintaining reports for the state accountability rating systems, developing and managing extensive quality control checks of SAS programs, and creating workflows to improve existing programs and applications. The Programmer/Data Analyst provides technical support to management in ongoing and new system development. This position contributes to the rigorous academic accountability and performance reporting system which is the cornerstone of the agency’s priority to promote improved outcomes for all students and to ensure all students are prepared for success in college, career, or military.

2022 Accountability Manual and Administrator’s Guide
Due to the redesign of the reading language arts (RLA) STAAR, the inclusion of new item types in mathematics, the shift to a fully online assessment system, and required standard setting and validation processes, STAAR Progress Measures will NOT be calculated for 2022–23. In 2023 the new Transition Table will measure growth.
2023 Accountability
The Preliminary 2023 Academic Accountability System Framework is now available. As part of the continuous improvement process, the agency spent two years consulting with stakeholders on enhancements to the accountability system. The proposed enhancements described in the preliminary framework are designed to provide parents, community members, and educators with the data essential to drive improved outcomes for all Texas children.
This document provides an overview of the proposed adjustments and is intended to guide discussions and spur additional stakeholder feedback, which will be gathered through fall 2022.
Stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback through October 1, 2022, to help inform an updated October accountability system framework, which will be published in late October 2022. The proposed 2023 Accountability Manual will be published in early 2023 for additional feedback prior to becoming rule in summer 2023. Questions and/or feedback can be sent to performance.reporting@tea.texas.gov.

STAAR Interim Assessments, an optional online tool to help educators monitor progress and predict student performance on STAAR, will be available during the 2022–23 school year for all STAAR tested grades/subjects and courses. Interim assessments are full-scope tests designed to be administered one to two times during the school year, depending on the content area. Interim assessments will include new item types that will appear on STAAR in Spring 2023, except for constructed response questions because they are not machine-scorable. Texas Formative Assessment Resource (TFAR)
TFAR is a free, optional platform used by educators to create, administer, analyze, and share formative assessments. Teachers will be able to analyze the results of these formative assessments to help inform instructional choices such as making immediate lesson plan adjustments or providing specific interventions for students at the level of individual standards.
TFAR is meant to supplement and support existing LEA resources and formative assessment practices. Assessments created in TFAR should be combined with a broader set of classroom formative practices that are part of a coherent instructional framework.
Additionally, formative assessments from select, high quality instructional materials (HQIM) with an open education license will be available to administer through the same online test administration system as assessments created using TFAR. Assessments from math and RLA curricula, grades K-5, will be prioritized, and other, select curricula’s assessments will be released on a rolling basis. More information about which HQIM products’ tests will be available in the online system and the release dates of these tests will be available in the fall.
