We are looking forward to a fun semester as we prepare for Iskwelahang Pilipino's 50th Anniversary Showcase! The showcase is themed "Rooted and Rising" and is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026. As IP celebrates 50 years, we welcome our whole community - every generation - to join us in reflecting on and celebrating the unique legacy that we share at IP. We hope that every student will participate in the Anniversary Showcase whether onstage or offstage.

Forty years ago, IP began a tradition of celebrating each 5-year milestone with an all-school "anniversary show." About twenty years ago, IP made a commitment to give every student the opportunity to participate in a full stage production at least once, if not twice, during their time at IP. We missed our 45th due to the pandemic, so we're overdue for a big celebration! This year, as we celebrate our golden anniversary, we are expanding our celebration beyond the stage to include an audience engagement experience that will take place offstage before the show and during intermission. Together, the two parts -- the show onstage and the audience experience offstage -- make up the Anniversary Showcase, which recalls our past, offers insight into what IP is like today, and engages us in envisioning the future for our community.

Students and families will have multiple ways to contribute to the IP showcase along with all members of the IP community past and present. As always at IP, parent involvement is critical to the success of the showcase. This is a ticketed event and ticket sales help offset the cost of the showcase. We will continue to hold classes on IP Sundays that will serve to both educate our students and prepare for the Anniversary Showcase, so consistent attendance is important. We will also have Rehearsal/Prep days dedicated to preparing for the whole Anniversary Showcase. To plan effectively, we need to gather information on your student's schedule, including a) whether your family/child is able to attend the showcase on May 31 and the Production Days and IP Sundays in the two weeks prior to the showcase; b) whether there are any dates when your child may need to arrive late, leave early, or miss an entire day. We have included a link below for you to provide us with this information. Please complete a questionnaire for each child. If your child can’t attend on May 31, they may still participate in classes this winter/spring and contribute to the production preparations and audience experience projects for the 50th anniversary showcase.

The Anniversary Showcase is the year-end anniversary celebration scheduled for Sunday, May 31. The title and theme of the Showcase is "Rooted & Rising." It has 2 main parts -- a full stage production that includes graduation and an audience engagement experience that will take place off stage before the show and during the intermission. The year-end anniversary celebration on May 31 is an all-school activity.

IP Sundays are all-school, full cast days when all students are expected to attend. We will be preparing for the anniversary showcase by rehearsing songs and dances for the show and working on projects and exhibits for the audience engagement experience in class.

Prep/Rehearsal Days are used to prepare for the 5/31 Anniversary Showcase in a targeted, focused manner, including (offstage) audience engagement projects or exhibits and (onstage) stage show rehearsal, music, tech, costume, set, props. Students may be called for Production Days to finish audience engagement projects started in class or for more in-depth rehearsal for the stage show.

Scheduling decisions for production days will be made week-to-week and students will be called for rehearsal and projects on Production Days as needed. We will do our best to keep rehearsals within the same time blocks as IP Sundays. Individuals will be not called for every rehearsal.

NOTE: Rondalla Ensemble rehearsals are every Sunday for both the IP Anniversary and the Summer Concert Tour, except where noted. January Rehearsal Days prioritize Rondalla Ensemble.
