PJHS Parent Weekly

Hello PJHS Families,

It was a great week at PJHS with a lot of learning happening in the classrooms. As I walk the halls, I embrace the sound of teachers instructing the class, while the students actively participate in the lessons that are taking place. During lunches, I enjoy interacting with the students to hear about their classes and extra activities that they enjoy. The students are truly what make our jobs invaluable in many ways. So, thank you for sharing them with us everyday.

This week, the parent communication has new items added, so please take your time to look at all the information included in this newsletter as dates for some events, fundraisers, and meetings are approaching soon.

Please note the message from district transportation:

With the increase in students on bus routes this year, we are no longer able to allow extra passengers to ride home with other students. Families will need to make alternate arrangements for these situations.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and support.

If you are interested in your child taking an educational trip to Italy and Greece, please attend the informational meeting on September 17th at 6:30p.m. in the PJHS library to hear more details.

Please look over the student handbook for all policies and procedures for Peotone Junior High.

Please refer to the Chromebook policy for PJHS students. Please also try and remind your child to charge his/her Chromebook everyday to limit infractions of the policy.

You just have a few days left to get your fall mums! You can order on our new online store or send back your paper forms to your school. Order deadline is fast approaching and due on Tuesday, Sept 16th and pick up will be Thursday, Sept 25th at PES from 4:30-6pm.

The Peotone Historical Society will be holding their 23rd annual Old Mill Fall Fest on Saturday, September 20th from 4-9pm in the big tent. Also, there will be civil war camp, crafts with different vendors, food and games on Sunday, September 21st from 11am-4pm. They are looking for the community to come and join in the fun!

If you are dropping off any items for your child:

• The exterior door closest to the buzzer will be unlocked. You may enter using this door without needing to be buzzed in.
• There is a table set up on the right to place items being dropped off for your child. Please write their first and last name, and grade level on a sticky note and leave the item on the table.

If you are entering the building for any reason during the school day, you will need your ID to scan in through our Raptor system.
