JOHN S. CLARKE ELEMENTARY CENTER

CHILDREN FIRST!

JOHN S. CLARKEELEMENTARY CENTERCHILDREN FIRST!

Dear JSC Families,

Happy Spring! The weather is beginning to change and we cannot be more excited to get outside for recess and some fresh air.

The third marking period is coming to an end on Wednesday, March 31. I urge all families to connect with your child's teacher to make sure all assignments are submitted and graded.

A friendly reminder to families about appropriate footwear for students. Students should not wear open-toed shoes, shoes with heels, or flip-flops to school. These types of footwear can be very dangerous on the playground or during physical activity in the gymnasium.

Our February Virtual Family Challenge asked students to take a picture with someone who meant a great deal to them and tell us why. We loved seeing all the responses submitted and were overcome with joy hearing about all the people in our students' lives who make them happy!

Students were randomly selected and received some fantastic surprises! Bubbles, chocolate bars, Pez dispensers, and most importantly BOOKS! A big shout out to our JSC Reading Center staff and program for selecting and donating the books.

The Challenge winners are:

Kindergarten: Kayla Murphy

1st Grade: Lillian Dougherty

2nd Grade: Jamarion Klinger

3rd Grade: Olivia Rodgers
