Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
It’s been an amazing return to school this week, and we are excited to have our students back in the building! Our teachers are busy setting expectations within the classroom, and our guidance department is busy adjusting schedules. As a reminder, in a high school, it can take a week or so to get schedules settled.
We held class meetings on the second day of school to set expectations for both the treatment of our building as well as the treatment of others. We reiterated that high school can be fun and exciting, but our first priority is the safety and education of our students. Ultimately, every class in a high school counts and our students need to be here. Thank you for helping us make that happen!
We try to fill our Friday newsletter with lots of pictures of our students, staff and our community. This edition is full of them, so take a few minutes to look through some of the great things that are happening at BHS and within the Batavia community.
We are excited to partner with you for a fantastic 2026-2027 school year! As always, reach out if you have questions or need anything.
Have a great weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

#EveryBulldogEveryDay
Hi, Bulldog Families.
On Wednesday, all students participated in their class meetings where we reviewed the high school’s expectations around the building’s culture and the belief that we reinforce: treat others as you wish to be treated.
We spoke with students about safe driving, dress code, and earning credits towards graduation.
Thank you for a great first week of school and have a nice weekend.
Go Bulldogs!

Hello, Families.
It was great seeing all the students back for the first week of school. During class meetings, expectations were set for all students in grades 9-12. The classes did a great job of being attentive to the communication that was presented.
Students that are driving to school in the morning should enter the high school from Batavia Rd., not Old 32 please. This helps keep the traffic flow to the senior lot and back parking much safer for all. It also allows parents a smoother drop off at the crosswalk. When students exit the back lot at the end of the day, their only route is Batavia Rd. Please remind your student drivers to be safe.
Lastly, the parent drop off in the mornings went well. Again, during the mornings, parents should enter the campus from Old 32 and drop off their students at the crosswalk with the crossing guard. Students should not be dropped off in the staff/senior parking lot. Thank you.
Have a great weekend.
Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students
Please Take Note of the Following:
We will be running the Flex Schedules A and B on Thursday, September 3rd and Friday, September 4th. These two days allow both End Of Course teachers the time needed to administer the Restart/Readiness and to allow the AP teachers to administer some baseline assessments. Please look through the schedule linked above and note that all periods will be double blocked.

Welcome Back!
We are so excited to get the 26 - 27 school year off to a great start! We ask that all students and parents review the HS schedules. Make sure your students have all 4 core classes if your students are in grades 9-11. Your student should have an English, a Math, a Science, and a Social Studies class for the full year.
If your student is newly enrolled this year, we will be emailing you, the parent, with scheduling information so that we can have your students schedule prepared.
Remember that students have 5 days to drop or add classes once school starts. Schedule change request forms will be available in guidance starting 8/18. Students will have to get a schedule change request form signed by a parent in order for us to look at making any schedule modifications. The deadline for students to submit a signed schedule change request form is August 26th.
We look forward to getting this 26-27 school year off to a great start!
