PRIDE MONTH 2022!

June may be Pride Month, but creating safe and inclusive school environments for LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer/Questioning) students, and students with LGBTQ family members, should be a year-round effort.

There are many resources available online for teaching students about LGBTQ Pride/History Month and its significance. While this topic can be a sensitive one to many, is not as difficult to teach if you have the right approach and materials. By teaching students about this topic, they will gain a much better understanding for the LGBTQ community and the struggles they have faced and continue to face each day.

Google Arts and Culture

Google Arts & Culture is both a website and an iOS app that provides free access to art, culture, and historical collections from around the world. You can easily incorporate the site's stunning, interesting, and expansive media -- well-organized into collections, themes, and more -- into lessons. It allows users to explore by specific museums' collections or themes, and to filter by movement, artist, historical event, historical figure, medium, and more. You can also allow students to play games like Geo Artwork, What Came First or Puzzle Party. There are many other other theme based Trivia, Coloring Books and Crosswords.
