Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
March 18, 2022
We enjoyed a great week at school. We enjoyed some beautiful and welcomed spring weather, our primary students had a blast trying to track down a tricky leprechaun on Thursday, our 5th graders worked hard on their state science assessment, and in classrooms your kiddos showed off their learning and growth all week.
One highlight of the week was the culmination of this year's Read-a-Thon! Our community, once again, did an amazing job with the Read-a-Thon. Below are some stats:
223: Number of participants
2,694: Minutes of our top reader, Ava Wheeler
1,853: Dollars of our top earning class, Ms. Washart's
9,349: Minutes of our top reading class, Mrs. Austen's
67,186: Minute total as a school!
>$15,000: Dollars raised through the Read-a-Thon!
Most importantly, kids got to enjoy time with good books and grow a love of reaing. Thank you to all who participated and supported! Way to go, Leopards!
Looking ahead, Monday of next week is Spring Pictures. If you are ordering, please send in the paper form or make sure that your child's teacher knows to send your child. We are only sending students who are ordering to have their picture taken. Friday of next week is a Spirit Day: Maryland Day! Wear Maryland gear or Maryland colors on Friday.
Moving ahead, now that we have updated guidance on Spring events, we've published an event schedule for April, May and June. You can find a flyer attached to this newsletter and an image below. Mark your calendars!
Finally, we are recruiting Kindergartners! Please help us spread the word. If you know of a family with a Kindergartner or are connected with a childcare center, please send them the attached flyer. We want to get families out for Kindergarten RoundUp where we can meet the children and families. The first date is April 1st and spots are filling!

Kindergarten Round-Up!
Please save and share the dates below for Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2022-2023 school year! This is for children who will be 5-years-old by September 1, 2022.
The in-person round-up event will allow families to have their child meet a kindergarten teacher, confer on registration documents with office staff, meet additional support staff members, and (hopefully) take a brief tour of the school.
April 1st: 1:30 – 4:00
May 3rd: 12:30 – 4:00
Please have interested families complete this form: Kindergarten Enrollment Contact Information
Outside of these dates, registration can also be completed online or by appointment, but these dates are preferred if workable for families.
Update: We will be reaching out to families next week to begin scheduling. Please encourage others to provide their contact information using the link above.
