Hello Rockburn Families,

We hope you are staying warm during this cold winter weather! As winter is officially here, please be sure your family file is completed and up to date, in case of an emergency closing.

As a reminder, Parent-teacher conferences are coming up on February 5th and 6th, and families may begin signing up on January 22nd at 8:00 a.m.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership.

Family Fun Night is Back! Join us Tuesday, February 3rd from 6:30-7:30. Families can come to Rockburn to participate in a variety of family activities. This year's activities will include marble runs, legos, snowman poppers, origami, tangram challenges and much much more. More specific details will follow in the coming weeks. We are in need of a few items to make this evening a success. Please see our Amazon Wishlist here. Already know you would like to attend, sign up here to let us know you are coming!

*We are also in need of paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls. So please consider collecting them and sending them in. There will be a basket in the front lobby to collect!

We love our Rockburn families and all of the traditions you celebrate. We value all the many cultures in our building and want to hear from you, our treasured families. We want to learn more about you and highlight our families in our Rockburn Report.

Prize cart is back! Kids have the opportunity to trade in their tickets at the prize cart one week each month. We love to have two volunteers for each grade to help facilitate. If you are able/willing to volunteer, please use this sheet to sign up.

Update Your Student/Family Emergency Information Today!

Parents/guardians must verify and/or update emergency information for each child every school year. This is completed online in Family File, which has several new updates including how and where to access. Full details on updating your Family FileLinks to an external site. are available online.

One exciting new feature is that families now can submit a change of address via Family File, rather than completing a separate form and sending to their school. Full directions and information for familiesLinks to an external site. on this new process can be found online.

Restaurant Night at Uno This Wednesday

Just a reminder that our next restaurant night is this week on Wednesday, January 21st from 11 am - 10 pm. For this restaurant night, the PTA is teaming up with RES parent and author, Miranda Mittleman. SHe did an assembly at our school last year and will be at the restaurant that evening with her Weaver the Dog mascot. Show the flyer below or mention Rockburn for up to 20% to be donated back to Rockburn. Valid on dine in, carry out, and online orders.

Make Waves at Rockburn - Join the PTA

The 2025-2026 PTA Membership Drive has begun. Your PTA contribution and membership helps fund many programs throughout the year such as Cultural Arts assemblies, Family Involvement events, Back to School Celebration, Fall Festival, Holiday Shop, Bingo Night, Movie Night, Sports Park NIght, 5th grade signature shirts, school gifts, staff appreciation, and enhancements to our recess and PE programs. All parents are encouraged to join the PTA.

You can pay your annual membership dues online via our MemberHub store (https://rockburnpta.givebacks.com/shop). You can also make a direct donation to the PTA there.

NEW Girl Scout Daisy Troop forming for Kindergarten and 1st Grade Girls

If your daughter is interested in trying out girl scouts, we have a new troop forming. We WILL need parent volunteers to keep it going, but the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland staff will be there to facilitate the 1st 4 meetings! Please come check it out!
