*Highlights shared in this newsletter are collected from the school websites, social media pages, and through individual submissions.
β Parent-teacher conferences were held on February 20, 2025. Literacy scores from the
winter administration of PELI was shared with parents.
Principal Schmidt would like to celebrate the hard work of our students with
disabilities. The combination of explicit instruction by our hardworking teachers and the
determination of our students has allowed students to excel. The Elementary staff measures student progress with Acadience, i-Ready Assessment, Ohio State Tests and a variety of
formative assessment measures. Our data over time shows incredible growth that often
exceeds our expectations.
The Elementary School has been celebrating students who demonstrate βThe Rocket Wayβ by sharing their stories on social media. If youβre not already following our Facebook page, we encourage you to do so. Itβs inspiring to read about our studentsβ hard work, kindness, and perseverance.

1st GRADE FAMILY SCIENCE DAY:
On February 28, the 1st grade had their Family Science Day. It was a huge success. There were seventy three first grade parents in attendance! The first grade teaching team, led by Mrs. Langdon, collaborated to create eleven engaging stations. Activities were led by High School students, Board Office employees and parents. I was especially impressed with the enthusiasm of the student volunteers. During the event, parents and students moved through the stations learning and exploring together. We look forward to holding this event for many years to come.
Congratulations to the New Members of the National Junior Honor Society
- Thank you to Ms. Bacon for sponsoring this group and organizing the induction ceremony that was held on March 13th.
Kudos to Mr. Howard and our PBIS team for organizing Ice Cream Float Fridays every
other Friday. Our students can purchase an ice cream float using 20 PBIS points they
can enjoy during lunch.
The middle school grade-level teams come together for Team Meeting Thursdays, a time where the staff collaborate and recognize students who demonstrate excellence in following PBIS expectations. These expectations include being respectful, responsible, problem-solvers, and showing school pride.
Each grade-level team selects 10 students who have exemplified these values throughout the week to be featured on the "Wheel of Cheer." Their names are added to the physical wheel, which is spun each Friday during lunch. Typically, 5 students from each grade level are randomly chosen and awarded the opportunity to enjoy the PBIS room with a friend during the following week's advisory time.
This is a great way for to celebrate students who consistently show the positive behaviors that make our school community strong! π
