Are you ready for some football???

A message from Athletic Director Vickie Dahl --

Beginning this Friday for the home football game vs. Darlington, elementary students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian in order to attend the event. Parents/Guardians are responsible for their children and are asked to have their children sit with them. Friday night's game will consist of Senior Night, Hall of Fame, Marching Band Show, and Halftime Entertainment Dance. With so many events on one evening, it is imperative to have everyone on their best behavior.

For any upcoming home football playoff games, we will have the same policy in effect.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Dahl at vickie.dahl@mp.k12.wi.us

Thank you for your support of #PointerNation!

Is your child biking to school?

We love to see so many of our students riding their bikes to school. Please encourage your child to follow general bike safety rules when biking. We would love to see all of our friends wearing a helmet if possible. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Empathy shirts available!

For the past several years Mineral Point Elementary has worked hard to teach our students empathy. We want to help students see another’s point of view and this year are teaching that Empathy is “Seeing from the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another”. Empathy helps to support inclusion and understanding in our classrooms, school, and community. As a part of this initiative we would like every student to have a Mineral Point Empathy T-shirt. Several occasions during the school year we will all wear our shirts, united with Empathy.

You can find the order form here.

When making an attendance or dismissal change please contact the office. You may contact the teacher as well. It is important for all changes to come through the office so we are aware of what children are coming and going when. In addition, if there is a substitute teacher in the classroom they will not receive the homeroom teachers emails.

The word of the month for October is "Empathy". All students will participate in an assembly to introduce the idea of Empathy on Monday, October 7th. Our mantra to describe Empathy is: "Seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another". Ask your child or check out our facebook page to see how we're implementing Empathy in the classroom.
