Ms. Brant, Ms. Walhof and Ms. Holland wearding wigs to show their Grizzly Gives spirit.
zoom_out_map

Yay! We finally have snow! This is so exciting,

I have been so impressed by the participation from our students, families, and feeder schools in support of the Ontiveros family. We are looking forward to celebrating with them at the conclusion of Grizzly Gives week next Tuesday. Not only have the spirit days been a ton of fun (including fun wigs today), but it’s been great to see the esprit de corps as students cheer each other on in talent shows, adopt other people to join them for Trivia Night, or (mostly peacefully) beat each other in 3x3 basketball and in dodgeball.

Students of the Month and Positive Behavior Referrals are back! Thanks to TRHS Dean Kristen Kovack, we got to experience that moment when students who have a pass to the office realize that not only are they not in trouble, they are being celebrated for how great they are. If your student received recognition, ask them to show you that positive referral that a staff member gave them. It’s so good to be able to celebrate our amazing kids!

Seniors — there are only a few more days left to sign up to audition to speak or perform at graduation! This is such a great opportunity to be part of the ceremony. Check out the flyer below for details and sign up by March 12th.

All are welcome to attend to our School Accountability Committee (SAC) meeting next Thursday, March 12, from 4:30–6:00 PM in the library’s Post-Grad room. We will be serving dinner, so if you plan to attend the SAC meeting for the first time, please let me know ASAP via email at ejwalhof@dcsdk12.org. I don’t want anyone to leave the meeting hungry!

PSAT and SAT are only about 5 weeks away (including Spring Break). We encourage all of our 9th-11th graders to check their DCSD email for the login information from Brain Buffs - a test prep program that can give each student customized feedback to help them learn and improve their scores. Remember, the optional prep/study sessions are on Thursdays during Grizzly Hour. Please have students contact their counselors if they want more info.

Tickets for our Spring Musical Mamma Mia are already on sale. The show will be on April 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 9th, 10th & 11th and I hope to see you there to celebrate our oh-so-talented students. Speaking of our talented students, I also hope you can also make it to one of our band and choir concerts next week. Dates and times are listed below, and are also on the home page.

We are still in the midst of hiring our remaining few open positions for teachers and admin, so please bear with us if our response time is a tiny bit delayed.

Enjoy your weekend!

Liz

We are excited to share that Jacquie Rapant and Rachel Stewart have been selected as the new Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinators at ThunderRidge High School for the coming school year. Please join us in congratulating them as they take on this important leadership role in our IB continuum. Both Mrs.Rapant and Ms.Stewart are already such invaluable members of the ThunderRidge community, and we know they will be phenomenal in this role.

The MYP Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the implementation and continued development of the IB Middle Years Programme. This position serves as an academic leader who works closely with teachers, administrators, students, and the wider school community to ensure the programme is aligned with IB standards and provides meaningful learning experiences for students.

In addition to these responsibilities, MYP Coordinators help foster a culture of inquiry, reflection, and global-mindedness across the school. They support students and teachers alike as we continue to build a strong IB pathway that connects the Middle Years Programme to the Diploma Programme.

We are thrilled to have Mrs Rapant and Ms.Stewart leading this work and we look forward to the continued growth of the IB programmes at ThunderRidge.
