NPSD District-Wide Events
December 23, 2025

Dear North Penn families,
Below are some NPSD meetings and events that may be of relevance to you and your family. The events below are only those sponsored by the North Penn School District, not school-sponsored events. This newsletter will be sent twice a month via School Messenger. As always, all NPSD events can be found on the district calendar, including school-specific events not included here. NPSD also recognizes there are many local organizations holding worthwhile programs in the community. Such events can be found on the NPSD Community Bulletin Board.
Black History Oratorical Competition
In celebration of Black History, all North Penn students from grades 3-12 are invited to participate in this year's Black History Oratorical Competition. The competition is designed to give North Penn public school students an opportunity to shine through public speaking while honoring Black history. Students will recite published speeches or poems from an African-American or Black leader
How do I sign up?
Interested students will recite their speech and submit the video by Friday, January 16th using the following link to the video submission form. Students need to use their NP login to submit the file. The committee will review each submission and select finalists for the district-wide competition.
Selected students from each level will recite their speeches at a competition held at North Penn High School on Thursday, February 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm. A flexible dress rehearsal will be held February 25th. Semi-finalists can come during the hours of 4:30-6:00 to rehearse on the stage.
Video submissions will be selected based upon how students respect/honor Black History, the realism of their story telling and how they embody messages that inspire and uplift participants to continue toward progress; believing the impossible is possible. Remember: Black History is not just about slavery and the Civil Rights Movement. Strive to select oratory pieces that reflect the S.P.I.R.I.T. of the people throughout the African Diaspora
