King Philip Regional High School
Week of December 1, 2024

September 11, 2026
Greetings KP Community,
We have had a great start to the 2026–2027 school year at KPRHS. Over the past week and a half, it has been wonderful to see students settling into their classes, reconnecting with friends and teachers, and becoming part of the many activities and opportunities happening throughout the school. What has stood out to me most, however, is the number of student leaders and upperclassmen I have seen helping younger students and those who are new to our district. Whether offering directions, answering questions, or simply helping someone feel welcome, these small acts make a meaningful difference and are a wonderful reflection of the community we strive to create at KP.
Today also marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. This morning, we paused as a school community to remember the lives lost that day and to honor all those who were forever impacted. For our students, September 11 is an event they know only through history, but it remains important that we help them understand its significance and ensure that the memories of those we lost are not forgotten. As we begin this new school year, it is also a reminder of the importance of community, compassion, and taking care of one another.

Consent for Google Additional Services
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As part of our commitment to providing a rich and engaging learning environment, King Philip Regional utilizes Google Workspace for Education. This platform offers valuable tools that support student learning, collaboration, and communication. Google has separated its consent for "additional services" from its "core services".
Why we are seeking your consent:
While core Google Workspace services are covered under our existing agreement, these additional services require parental consent for students under the age of 18, as they may collect and use student data in ways that are slightly different from core services. We want to ensure transparency and allow you to make an informed decision regarding your child's data.
What this means for your child:
If you grant consent, your child will continue to have access to the additional educational tools, enriching their learning experience. These services will be used under teacher supervision and for educational purposes only. We will continue to prioritize student privacy and adhere to all applicable data protection regulations.
What we need from you:
Please fill out the following Google Form:
King Philip: Consent for Google Additional Services
We believe that these additional Google services can significantly enhance your child's learning experience, but we respect your right to make an informed decision.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Michael Bois

Universal Free School Meals for All Students
Governor Healey and the Massachusetts Legislature have made Massachusetts the 8th state to make School Meals for All permanent, beginning immediately for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year! School meals will be offered at no cost to all students.
Free and Reduced Cost Meals Application
Please note that even though meals will be free for all, it is very important for families in need to still complete the household Application for Free and Reduced Price Meals for the 2025-2026 school year. This allows districts to establish eligibility for other federal benefits and school programs. Families who have been eligible for Free and Reduced Meals in the past must apply again for 2025-2026. Please know that the application is confidential with only the Director of Food Services and administrators having access. All students receive the same meals.

Medication Pick-Up Reminder from the Nurse’s Office
News from the Nurses Office:
Parents/guardians - Please be aware that if your child feels ill while at school- please encourage them to visit the nurse's office for evaluation. If we deem it medically necessary, you will be contacted and we will excuse the dismissal. If a student dismisses themselves without being seen by the nurses, their dismissal cannot be excused ( without a doctor's note).
Please keep your students home if they are ill. This includes: fever (greater than 100 degrees and your child may return to school only after their temperature has been consistently below 100 degrees, by mouth, for a minimum of 24 hours), vomiting (even once) and diarrhea.
WE do not carry OR provide cold/cough medicine. We do not carry OR provide Claritin or Allegra
( allergy medicine). The Benadryl we have in the office is for anaphylactic events .
Dismissal Reminders
