Principal Update 2/10/25
Good Morning Memorial Families,
February never fails to bring us some solid bouts of snow that remind us that we DO live in New England and winter still has a long way to go. We do have several more opportunities to pick up some snow this week. Hopefully we can keep the interruptions to school to a minimum heading into February Vacation.
We had an awesome 100th Day Museum in the cafeteria on Friday afternoon. Our first graders were very creative with the many different ways that they displayed collections of one hundred items. I loved seeing the ways that they grouped the items; some in fives, tens, and even groups of twenty. We had rainbow designs, hedgehogs, and lots of Lego creations. Thanks to our first grade families for attending and for supporting your children's work at home on these projects.
We have rescheduled our Inspired Learning Day that was snowed out to March 6th. We look forward to a fun and engaging day with our students! Thank you to everyone who has donated recyclable materials for use that day in some of our sessions.
Our monthly PTO meeting will be held this Wednesday night, weather permitting, in the library at 6:30pm. We have a wonderful, active, and supportive PTO here at Memorial, and I encourage parents who may be interested in getting more involved to come out for the meeting. It is a great way to get to know other parents and you can be involved as much or as little as you like. Hope to see you there!
I hope that everyone has a terrific week and a wonderful school vacation week. I know that the illnesses have hit all of us (adults and children) hard over the past few weeks, and I hope that a week out of the building will allow us all to fully recover heading into the last bit of winter.
Warmly,
Wendy
