Fall 2023 Vol. 1
Welcome back! I hope you had a great summer and enjoyed your time off. I am excited about this school year and cannot wait to connect with each of you. For those of you who I have not had the opportunity to meet yet, my name is Michelle Fikac (fee-kotch). My last name is a little tricky to pronounce and as you can imagine, the littles really struggle with saying it correctly. A lot of times my name evolves into Ms. Peacock! Hence, my peacock avatar. I have learned to embrace it and it has become a part of who I am.
Here is a little "numbers" breakdown of who I am.
2: I am a mom to twin girls who are 26 years old.🩷🩷

7: This year, I will be supporting 7 campuses: Carlos Coon, Driggers, Evers, Leon Valley, Myers, Raba, and Timberwilde.🐨🐶🦄🦁🦅🐍🐺
10: I am one of the OG's of Academy Technology and I am beginning my 10th year as an Academic Technology Coach.🔟
20: I have been working with teachers in a technology capacity for 20+ years. I originally started as a Campus Instructional Technologist in 2003.💻
27: My husband and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary last year.💍

94: I am a proud Class of '94 Aggie graduate! Whoop!👍🏼
The fundamental purpose of a Technology Coach is to support the growth of educators, through job-embedded coaching, in the delivery of high-quality, tier-one instruction to help all students succeed.
As a coach, I am available to support you in the following ways and more.
Connection: Identifying available resources and providing quick how-to's
Consultation: Working together to brainstorm ideas and instructional methods
Collaboration: Partnering together to create a project or assessment and providing implementation support
Growth Coaching: Partnering together to identify and integrate a new strategy or tool
Impact Cycle Coaching: Working together to identify, implement, and improve instruction based on a student-centered goal
Now that you know how I can support you, would you like to schedule a time for us to meet? I am available to meet with you one-on-one, with teams, and even with PLCs. Via this link, you can see all of my available appointment times. I am open to meeting face-to-face, virtually, or whatever you are comfortable with doing. Remember, I'm here to support you in any way I can.
Have you heard about "Coaching for Credit." Anytime we meet outside your contract time (after 3:15 pm), our time working together can count for TC and CPE credit. All you need to do is schedule a time for us to partner together and let me know if you would like it turned in for coaching credit. Coaching for Credit not only documents your learning but also honors the time you have dedicated to honing your craft.
During our time together we can: brainstorm an idea, discuss an instructional strategy, create a game-plan for a student-centered goal or reflect and make adjustments to your current teaching practices.
