📸 Say Cheese! School Portrait Day is Coming! 📸
Get those smiles ready for August 28, 2026! After the big day, you can head over to vipis.com to view your proofs, order fun photo packages, and pick your favorite shot for the yearbook. (Pro tip: make sure to pick your favorite yearbook pose before one is chosen for you!)
Remember, all orders are placed online and delivered straight to your doorstep, so please keep the photo money at home! 🏠✨
Want to help capture the magic? We have a few volunteer spots open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. If you’re interested in helping out, please send a quick note to Pamela.Bonnevier@d300.org. We’d love to have you!
Honoring Our Heroes: 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
We warmly invite all Eastview families to join us for our annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11th, at 8:15 a.m. We will gather together around the flagpole to share our gratitude for the local heroes who do so much for our community.
This special tradition is a time to honor our veterans, firefighters, police officers, and emergency dispatchers. If you or a close family member (parent, grandparent, or sibling) serve or have served in these roles, we would be truly honored to have you stand with us. To show our school spirit and respect, students and guests are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue.
Leading up to the event, students will participate in meaningful classroom activities to prepare. After the ceremony, please join us for breakfast as a thank you for your service and support of our school. We look forward to seeing you there!
Safety Drills
Keeping our little learners safe is our top priority! Throughout the year, our school family will practice a few super important safety drills, including fire safety, weather, bus evacuation, and lockdown drills. We'll always send a quick note home to let you know when we've completed a drill. If you'd prefer your child to skip the lockdown practice, just click here to download the opt-out form. Please fill it out and send it back to school with your student!
Attendance Matters
Attendance at Eastview matters! Showing up on time every day is important to your child’s success.
Missing school makes it harder to gain math and reading skills and build relationships.
A child is considered chronically absent if they miss two or more days a month, which equates to 10% or more of the school year.
Last year 15% of our EES students were considered chronically absent.
If your child is sick, please keep them home, and make a commitment to help them develop good habits by getting them to school.
Birthday Treats and Classroom Celebrations
To help keep all students safe, food and drinks may not be brought to school for birthday celebrations due to food allergies and dietary restrictions.
Families who wish to celebrate may send a small non-food item, such as:
- Pencils
- Stickers
- Bookmarks
- Fidgets
Please note that bringing in a birthday item is completely optional and never expected.
Balloons are not permitted in the building.
Daily Transportation Change Reminders
🚗 Heading home a different way today? To keep all our little explorers safe and sound, please let the front office know about any transportation changes—like switching from the bus to a parent pickup—by 1:30 PM! 🚌 This gives us plenty of time to wiggle the word down to teachers and students so everyone ends up exactly where they need to be. Thanks for helping us make dismissal a breeze! 🌟
🚗 Safe & Happy Travels: School Drop-off & Pick-up Tips! 🎒
We love seeing your smiling faces every morning! As we all get into the swing of our school routine, here are a few friendly reminders to keep our kiddos safe and our lines moving smoothly:
☀️ Breakfast Bunch: Early birds joining us for breakfast should head straight through the front doors to the cafeteria to fuel up for the day!
💋 Kiss-and-Go: Our car line is for quick goodbyes! Please stay cozy in your car and keep your drop-offs brief so all our friends can get to class on time.
🌟 Little Leaders: We’re encouraging independence! Let your student shine by walking to their class line on their own while you cheer them on from afar (the blacktop is for students only).
🛡️ Safety First: To keep our hallways secure and focused, parents should wave goodbye at the door—the building is just for students and staff during these busy times.
🚲 Meeting Spot: If you’re walking to meet your student, please hang out by the bike rack! Keeping the walkway clear helps everyone move safely and happily.
🤝 Patient Partings: We’re still getting to know all your wonderful families! Please wait for the teacher to officially release your student before they hop out of line.
🏷️ Help Your Gear Find Its Way Home!
We’ve had a wonderful kick-off with all 420 of our amazing Eastview students! With so many busy bees, our hallways are bustling with backpacks, lunch boxes, and cozy jackets. To help these items find their way back to your student if they happen to go on a little solo adventure in the lunchroom or on the bus, please take a quick moment to label them with your child’s first and last name. A little label goes a long way in keeping our lost and found empty and our students happy. Thank you for being such a great part of our school family!
🍎 Lunchtime Fun!
It’s almost time for the best part of the day! Our students get a refreshing 15-minute recess to play and recharge before settling in for a 20-minute lunch break. Whether your student is bringing a lunch from home or enjoying a meal from our provider, Organic Life, we can't wait to see them refuel!
