Welcome Back, Disney!
Hello Disney Families,
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, Monday, August 31st, for our first day of school. Please remember that tomorrow is a half day with school from 8:30 a.m - 12:30 p.m.
At this point, you should have received an email with your child’s teacher assignment. Please know that a great deal of thought and care goes into creating class lists to ensure the best possible learning environment for every student. Because of this, teacher change requests cannot be accommodated at this time. Our caring staff will be available to answer questions and guide students to their lineup locations. We kindly ask that you check with a staff member outside before entering the office with questions.
Arrival Procedures
We have student safety squad members present and cones marking various areas. Please be respectful of both. All students will line up on the South Side of the building (on blacktop of lower elementary playground). Students should begin line-up no earlier than 8:20 am. A list of door assignments can be found below.
- Bus Arrival: students will exit the bus and walk towards their lineup location
- Drop Off: Please follow the below parking lot traffic flow and pull all the way forward. Safeties or adults will politely remind you of this. Adults need to remain in the vehicle and students need to quickly exit car on the PASSENGER SIDE ONLY. Please do not exit your vehicle or stop/park in the drop-off line.
- If an adult is walking students to the lineup location, please park in a parking spot in the north lot. Utilize the designated crosswalk to walk students to lineup location.
Dismissal Procedures
We have student safety squad members present and cones marking various areas. Please be respectful of both.
- Bus Dismissal: students will exit the main doors and walk directly to their assigned bus.
- K – 1st Grade Pick-Up: students will exit classroom doors. Parents are asked to park in the north parking lot and pickup their student from the front of the building (doors #1-3). Please avoid pulling through the parking spaces, as this causes a back-up to the pickup line. When crossing the parking lot, please utilize the designated crosswalks.
- 2nd – 6th Grade Pick-Up: Please follow the below parking lot traffic flow and pull all the way forward. Safeties or adults will politely remind you of this. Students will be released to parents in the pickup zone only. Please do not stop, park, or exit your vehicle while in the pickup line.
As we settle back into the school year, we ask everyone to be mindful, patient, and kind. By working together, we can ensure a smooth, safe, and positive experience for all of our Disney families.
We can’t wait to see you tomorrow and kick off an amazing school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Porter
Disney Principal

Find your child's bus stop online
Bus stop information will be available online for the 2026–2027 school year starting August 24th. You can access your child’s bus stop information by visiting Fraser's Transportation page. Click on the "Access your child's bus stop" tab and enter your address to retrieve your child’s bus stop information.
It is very important to check your child’s bus stop, as routes have been modified for the 2026–2027 school year.
Students will be assigned a route number in lieu of a bus number. The route number is located on the left side of the entry door. To ensure transportation, all students must be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time.
Please review with your child the bus rules found on the Transportation Department’s website.

Technology Agreement - All Kindergarten & New Families MUST Complete
Students will be receiving their iPad soon after the beginning of the school year. Technology Agreements need to be on file for all students before they receive their iPad and chargers. The current technology agreement on file will determine if students bring their iPads home or keeps it at school. Technology Agreements can be updated at any time if you would like to change your student’s opt-in/opt-out status.
If you have a kindergarten student, are new to Disney, or if you would like to change your students opt-out status, please fill out the Technology Agreement linked below. As a reminder, students will NOT receive an iPad without a completed technology agreement on file.
Students who have Technology Agreements that are Opt-Out will keep their iPad at school. No charger will be assigned as it will be charged at night at school. If your student is an Opt-In and you do not need a charger at home, please e-mail Mrs. Bookmiller and a charger will not be assigned to your student.
Please mail Mrs. Bookmiller at Candice.Bookmiller@fraserk12.org if you have any additional questions regarding student iPads.

Red Flag Outside Indicates Indoor Lineup

Please utilize the car drop-off line and students will enter in the back of the building (door #18). If your child needs assistance, please park in a parking spot and walk your child to the main entrance (door #1). Student drop off is NOT allowed in the bus loop during indoor lineup.
Fraser Wireless Communication Policy
As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we want to share the student cell phone and personal device expectations in Fraser Public Schools.
In accordance with state law and Fraser Public Schools policy, students may not use personal wireless communication devices during the school day while on school grounds. This is consistent with our past practices at the elementary buildings.
What does this mean for elementary students?
Students may bring a device to school, but it must remain turned off, stored away, and out of sight during the school day. This includes cell phones, smartwatches and smart glasses, earbuds and headphones, personal tablets and any device that can text, call, access the internet, take photos or videos, send email, or provide entertainment.
Are there exceptions?
Yes. Exceptions may be made for medically necessary devices, school-issued devices, approved instructional use and IEP or 504 accommodations.
What happens if a student has a device out?
If a student has a device out during instructional time, they will be asked to put it away. If needed, staff may secure the device in a designated, secure location until the end of the school day.
Discipline will not be issued simply because a student has a device out. Consequences may be assigned if a student refuses to follow the expectation or repeatedly fails to comply with the policy. Our goal is to respond in a safe, reasonable, and consistent manner while helping students develop responsible technology habits.
How can families help?
We ask for your partnership as we make this transition. Before the school year begins, please talk with your student about keeping personal devices put away during the school day and the importance of following staff directions.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to provide a focused, safe, and positive learning environment for every Fraser student.
New Playground Fence Enhances Safety and Security
You may have noticed some new additions to our lower elementary playground! New gates and fencing have been installed to help increase safety and security for our students throughout the school day.
The fence helps enclose the playground area, providing an additional layer of security by helping keep our students safely inside the playground while limiting public access during school hours.
Because the lower elementary playground is also an important part of our arrival routine, the gates will operate on the following schedule:
- Morning Arrival: Gates will remain open until 8:45 AM.
- During the School Day: Gates will be closed from 8:40 AM–3:30 PM.
These new gates and fence are another way we are working to maintain a safe and secure environment while still making arrival and dismissal convenient for our Disney families. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep us all safe!
The Second Step Social & Emotional Learning Curriculum K-8
Now more than ever, we need to address the whole child. Best practice shows that students who feel safe and secure are better prepared to engage in their learning. Therefore, we are excited to continue to use Second Step in our K-8 classes beginning in September to further strengthen our commitment to social and emotional learning. (For more information about the benefits of SEL, please check out the quick video below.)
Second Step offers weekly, age-appropriate virtual lessons for students to help them with various social and emotional skills. These weekly lessons will build on and support all of the great work we're doing at Disney to support our students. Combined with our schoolwide restorative practices and consistent PBIS expectations, we are creating a firm Tier 1 foundation for supporting all of our students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Please view the flyers below to learn more about the program topics, and look for additional updates from classroom teachers and ALL district newsletters.

Does your child have medical needs?
If your child has specific medical needs, please reach out to the main office prior to the start of school. In order to administer medication, consent forms must be completed. Consent forms for prescription medications must include dosage and frequency information signed by a physician. Medication, including inhalers, must be stored in the main office and not in backpacks or pockets. In addition, if your child has a medical plan, it will need to be updated for the 25-26 school year.
Please find medication forms linked below for your convenience.
