September 26, 2025
Dear DMS Families,
This week, our classrooms were buzzing with energy as students fully engaged in their learning across all subjects. Itβs clear that the school year is well underway, and the enthusiasm for academic growth is palpable throughout the building.
On the athletic front, our soccer team demonstrated great determination and sportsmanship in their recent match against Westport Middle School. Although the game ended in a loss, the team played with heart and resilience. Weβre proud of their effort and wish them the best of luck as they take on Berkley Middle School Monday in an away game.
Extracurricular activities are also kicking off, with several clubs launching their first meetings of the year. Students began participating in the Yearbook Club, Newspaper Club, and Student Governmentβopportunities that foster creativity, leadership, and school spirit. Weβre excited to see what these student-led initiatives will accomplish in the weeks ahead.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Cheryl Leandro, Principal cleandro@drregional.org
Mr. Sean Kinney, Assistant Principal skinney@drregional.org

πβ½ SPORTS NEWS πβ½
An Important Announcement regarding DMS Sporting Events
We want to take this opportunity to remind families that DMS students are more than welcome to return to DMS to watch their friends play soccer/baseball/softball. However, they should take their regularly scheduled transportation home and return for the game if they would like to watch.
Games do not begin until 3:15/3:30 p.m., and school staff is not always after school to monitor students between the end of the day and the game. With that, it is important to note that school staff is also not always in attendance at soccer/softball/baseball games, so it is recommended that students come to the game with an adult.
