Thankful!
We are thankful for you!
I recently started a gratitude journal that I have been writing in daily. I have worked extremely hard to shift my thinking to having a positive mindset. Naturally, as humans, we tend to focus on the negative more than the positive. Writing in my gratitude journal daily has helped shaped my thinking and "trained my brain" to look at what is going well around me. Believe me, there are still days that are tough, however, having the mindset to look at the positives has helped me overcome some really hard days!
With that being said, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your partnership in your child's education. Your active participation, open communication, and unwavering support play a vital role in helping our students reach their highest potential. Thank you for being an essential part of our school family. We look forward to many more weeks of learning together and celebrating our students' achievements.
I am thankful for all of you--and yes, you made it into my gratitude journal. Having parents and families like those at Hillcrest make our days bright! We are thankful that you are a part of our team.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Winter Weather
Looking ahead at the forecast, there are some colder days headed our way. Please make sure that you send your student to school with appropriate winter apparel. Students will go outside to play as long as the "feel like" temperature is above 10 degrees. Students should have a winter coat, a hat, and gloves. If your students need help getting these items, please let your student's teacher know. We will be sure to find winter gear to keep all kids warm this winter!
If there is snow on the ground, students will be expected to wear snow boots, snow pants, a winter coat, a hat, and gloves in order to play in the snow.
eLearning Days
If the weather makes conditions too dangerous to go to school, our students will participate in an eLearning Day. You will know that an eLearning Day is called by receiving a phone call, email, and/or text message from the school district stating an eLearning Day has been declared. Please be on the lookout for activities regarding this day from your child's classroom teacher.
It is crucial that all parents are on Rooms in order to receive the information regarding an eLearning Day from your child's classroom teacher.
