Student Spotlight
Congratulations are in order for 12th grader and Information and Engineering Technology Academy student, Martin Armendariz. He recently passed his Eagle Scout Board of Review and is now officially an Eagle Scout! The grueling process included earning at least 21 merit badges, a minimum of six months in a leadership position, and carrying out an Eagle service project (see below for a picture of Martin's service project on Blanson's campus).
Martin has been working towards this prestigious honor for the past 7 years, entering the Scouts BSA organization when he was just 10 years old.Created in 1911, Eagle Scout is the highest rank of the Scouts BSA (formerly Boys Scouts of America). Because it takes years of hard work, service, and determination to become an Eagle Scout, this prestigious milestone is recognized across the country and the world. Prominent service personnel, astronauts, United States senators, and others count the Eagle Scout rank among their achievements.
Congratulations to 12th grader and Health and Human Services Academy student, Leilani Diaz. She was recently recognized as has been designated as a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
In late September, more than two-thirds (about 34,000) of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise. Commended Students are named based on a nationally applied Selection Index score that may vary from year to year.
Blanson is so very proud of these two outstanding students and we wish them the best of luck in their post-secondary careers! #BlansonBred #BlansonReady

Blanson Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month at Blanson is well underway! Ms. Ruiz's Spanish classes curated a musical playlist that is being played during lunches on Fridays. Student Council has been sharing notable facts, contributions, and histories of el mundo hispanohablante. Last week students participated in a Hispanic Heritage Spirit Dress Week, which included themes such as Si Se Puede College Day, Jersey Day, and Latinos in Action Day.
We celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success.

Diego is an outstanding student! He completes all assignments on time and helps other students complete their assignments. His leadership in the shop and classroom are evident in the other students' accomplishments. Diego is one of my best students and will be taking his ASE certifications in April. He is completing all dual credit requirements. Nominated by Mr. Britt
Pedro Rodriguez, 12th grade

This student is very involved in our CTSO HOSA. Even though he is not a HOSA Officer, he is always volunteering to help take pictures at our meetings/events. Pedro is always available to help out his HOSA Officers by talking to teachers about their projects, helping create the posters, and speaking to HOSA members. I see great leadership qualities in him. Genesis is one of the seniors in our program. She has consistently helped in our program areas, such as the organization of the teacher supply room and SkillsUSA. Genesis always has a positive attitude, and it shows in the classroom and the projects we are currently working on. You will hear her reminding her classmates to stay on task and ensure the job gets done. Genesis has completed her CLT/CLA certifications for the program. She has also completed the Business Communication Course from the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, funded by the University of Houston. Annual Update in Home Access Center
Parents and Guardians,
We are in desperate need of your help! As a district requirement, ALL parents/guardians of Aldine students MUST complete an annual update in Home Access Center. Many of our parents have not completed this vital step yet and it MUST be completed for your Blanson student. The Home Access Center account MUST be a parent account (not a student account) and this means that a parent MUST have an email address.
Aldine is hosting sessions on Home Access Center in English and in Spanish and then of course you may contact Blanson for assistance in setting this up. Our registrar office will begin contacting students and parents who have not completed the updated enrollment form for the 2021-2022 school year. We thank you for your continued cooperation!
Quick Directions on Completing the Annual Update
1. Log in to Home Access Center and check the student name in the top right corner. Select the drop-down to
change to a different student, if needed.
2. Select the Registration page.
3. Select the Update Enrollment tab.
4. Under Available Forms, select Start to access the Annual Update form.
5. Set up access to Online Forms. a. Select the Checkbox “To comply with COPPA, I affirm that I am 13 years or older”. b. Select Begin Forms.
7. Complete the Annual Update application and SUBMIT it ASAP.
