Dear Bellerive Families,

Our focus this month is Habit 3: Put First Things First. This habit is about organization and prioritizing what’s most important. Leaders focus on responsibilities, schoolwork, and kindness first before moving on to play or less urgent tasks.

At Bellerive, students are practicing Habit 3 by:

  • Managing their time wisely and staying focused on learning.

  • Prioritizing important tasks before choosing free time activities.

  • Developing routines that help them be responsible and prepared.

Families can support this habit at home by making simple to-do lists together, or encouraging children to complete homework and chores before play. A "Habits at Home" activity for your family will be sent home on Wednesday.

When students put first things first, they learn how to balance responsibilities with fun and become more organized leaders. Thank you for your ongoing support of our work around the 7 Habits at Bellerive!

In partnership,

Joey Kneer

Honey is a Got Your Six Pet Therapy Support Dog that will be visiting Bellieve School this year. This is her 3rd year of visiting the schools and departments in the Parkway School District. She is trained to serve and provide pet therapy to local area residents in nursing homes, hospitals, schools, public libraries, and even funeral homes. Got Your Six Support Dogs Organization is based in Maryville, Illinois. The organization is committed to providing specialized service dogs to veterans and first responders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and other traumas without any costs. Their mission is to help men and women regain their lives through the healing power of dogs. For more information, please check out their website at https://gotyoursixsupportdogs.org/.

Honey and her owner look forward to visiting your students on Monday, November 24th, in the morning. Her team will be working alongside the school nurse to make sure that they do not enter any rooms where students are allergic or have a fear of dogs. Honey's personal goal is to provide smiles on people's faces and keep kids safe.
