ππ Celebrating Culture, Cultivating Peace & Growing Together! π
Dear Dealey Families,
As we enter another wonderful week at George B. Dealey Montessori & International Academy, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the continued partnership, enthusiasm, and commitment of our Dealey community.
First, thank you to all the parents and staff members who attended our recent PTA meeting! Your presence, participation, and willingness to invest your time in our school reflect the incredible strength of our Dealey family. Our PTA plays an essential role in supporting our students, teachers, and campus initiatives, and I am grateful for everyone who contributes to making our school such a special place.
Strong schools are built through strong partnerships. Whether you volunteer, attend meetings, support classroom activities, or encourage your Dragon at home, your involvement makes a meaningful difference.
This week, we continue celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month while recognizing several special observances that connect beautifully to our Montessori philosophy and our commitment to global citizenship. From the International Day of Peace to the International Day of Sign Languages, we have opportunities to help our students develop compassion, celebrate diversity, and appreciate the world around them.
As we move forward, let us continue to model the kindness, curiosity, and respect that define The Dealey Difference.
Thank you for being an important part of our journey as we continue to Explore Deeply. Thrive Globally.
Yours in Support,
Amber Garrett

π Welcome, Fall!
Tuesday, September 22, 2026
Happy First Day of Fall, Dealey Dragons!
A new season brings fresh opportunities for discovery, exploration, and growth. Our Montessori environments encourage students to observe the natural world, ask thoughtful questions, and develop an appreciation for the beauty of their surroundings.
As we welcome autumn, we encourage families to spend time outdoors, notice the changes in nature, and enjoy the simple joys of a new season.
Here's to a wonderful fall filled with learning, laughter, and new discoveries!
Hispanic Heritage Month
ππ Dealey Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month!
September 15 β October 15, 2026
At George B. Dealey Montessori & International Academy, we are proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! This special time provides an opportunity to honor the rich histories, vibrant cultures, traditions, and extraordinary contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.
Established by Congress in 1988, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15 through October 15. Throughout the month, Dallas ISD schools recognize the cultural heritage of our students and families through engaging educational experiences, meaningful conversations, and celebrations of diversity.
Here at Dealey, our commitment to Explore Deeply. Thrive Globally. comes alive as students discover the stories, languages, music, art, and achievements that have shaped Hispanic and Latino cultures. Through our Montessori philosophy and international studies, we encourage our Dragons to develop a deeper understanding of the world while embracing the unique identities and experiences of those around them.
π To our Hispanic and Latino students, families, and staff: Thank you for the many ways you enrich our Dealey community. Your heritage, traditions, and contributions are an important part of what makes our school so special.
As we celebrate this month, we invite our entire Dealey family to explore, learn, and appreciate the beautiful diversity within our communityβnot just during Hispanic Heritage Month, but throughout the year!
Β‘Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana! π
Explore Deeply. Thrive Globally. π
International Day of Peace 9/21/26
Monday, September 21, 2026
Peace is more than the absence of conflict. It is the daily practice of kindness, understanding, compassion, and respect.
As a Montessori school, peace education is woven into the fabric of our learning environment. Our Dragons are encouraged to resolve conflicts respectfully, appreciate different perspectives, and take responsibility for the well-being of their classroom communities.
In recognition of the International Day of Peace, we encourage our students and families to consider one simple question:
What can I do today to make my classroom, school, or community a more peaceful place?
Whether through a kind word, an act of service, or an effort to understand someone else's perspective, every Dragon has the power to make a difference.
