Back-To-School Update - August 26

Only five days remain until the launch of the new school year on August 31 and September 1! Here are some updated details on what you can expect on the first days of school, as well as some other key information for your consideration. Thank you for your continued support!

Teachers will be recording all content-based full class Google meetings for the purpose of allowing students to review content. These recordings are for internal use only and will not be shared with anyone other than students in the class. If you have any questions, please contact your building administrator. Thanks!

You might be wondering about the differences between remote learning at a home school and Thompson Connect Online! Here's a chart that explains it!

Fall 2020: Google Classroom will be the main platform for home school remote learning, with some use of SeeSaw and/or Class Dojo in the elementary grades. See this link to learn about how Google Classroom works. Haga clic aquí para aprender Google Classroom.

Thompson School District staff members are ready, willing and able to help with any problems your child is having as an on-line learner!

PROBLEM WITH THE THING THAT PLUGS IN: If the problem is with the actual device (iPad, Chromebook or laptop), please call the Innovative Technology Services Help Desk at

(970) 613-7777.

PROBLEM UNDERSTANDING WHAT TO DO: If the problem has to do with something the teacher has assigned, please contact the teacher directly.

PROBLEM GETTING SOMEONE TO E-MAIL YOU BACK: If you have reached out to your child's teacher and have not heard back, please contact the principal of the school.

ATTENDANCE -- PARTICIPATION, COMMUNICATION, ENGAGEMENT

Students are expected to be present and participate in all classes whether they are with their home school remote learning or with Thompson Connect Online. Adjustments will be made on a case-by-case basis when technology access or other circumstances do not allow for this to happen.

Families will need to help students know when to log-on for their classes based on their daily schedules. Students and families should partner with teachers for alternative ways to demonstrate participation, communication and engagement when there are attendance challenges.
