Dear Longfellow Families,

It’s hard to believe that February is already coming to a close! Even though it’s the shortest month of the year, it has been full of meaningful learning, creativity, and growth in our classrooms.

This month, students celebrated kindness, friendship, and perseverance. We enjoyed special activities connected to Valentine’s Day and took time to reflect on what it means to care for one another and build a positive school community. Our community night was a HIT! You are what makes Longfellow so special and we are grateful for our school community!

As we move into March, we look forward to more daylight, new learning goals, and fresh opportunities for students to shine. Please continue encouraging daily reading at home and checking in about classroom assignments and upcoming events.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. Together, we are making this school year a wonderful experience for our students!

Please remind your student(s) that all electronic devices must be away during the school day. If cell phones, etc are found to be in use during the school day, they can be confiscated and a parent will need to pick them up in the office. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we implement state and district policy.

The clinic is looking for gently used children's pants and shorts in various sizes for students to wear in the event of an accident during the school day. It is also helpful to pack a change of clothes in your student's book bag just in case as well.

Raising Cane's PTA fundraiser on March 12th from 4-9 PM at the Raising Cane's on SOM Center Rd in Willoughby

We are continuing to focus on increasing student attendance across the district and specifically at Longfellow. Currently 24% of our students are chronically absent, missing 10% or more of instruction, and we need your help to improve that number! Since Ohio school attendance is calculated in hours, every minute counts.

Willowick Middle School Experience Night will be held for incoming Willowick Middle 6th graders on March 3rd, 2026 from 6:00-7:30 at Willowick Middle School

In the Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools district students who are 5 years old on or before August 24, 2025 are eligible for kindergarten. Online kindergarten registration will begin February 15, 2026.

Popcorn Poppers

We are looking for volunteers to come in and help in the morning or afternoon to pop popcorn and bag it up. We will be doing a total of 7 popcorn days this year all on fridays. All help is welcome!!!
