Another great week at BYE! We are so proud of our students working together and learning new things. Reminder- We will not have school on Labor Day.

Volunteers

Are you interested in volunteering? Please complete our volunteer survey. The PTA works alongside school administration to assist with coordinating volunteers. We will have a volunteer training on Tuesday, September 13th following the PTA meeting (approximately 9:00). The PTA meeting will begin at 8:00 at the BYE library. All are welcome! Please check-in through the front office. All volunteers will need to attend the training prior to volunteering. If this time does not work for you, let us know and we can arrange an additional time.

Technology Insurance- $20

It is not too late to purchase technology insurance. We have brand new chromebooks for students in grades 2-5. Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade have ipads to use at school. Insurance can be purchased at https://osp.osmsinc.com/SpringdaleAR/ or by bringing $20 to the office.

Meet Omar Morales Perez, Young PE Intern

My name is Omar Morales Perez. I have lived in Northwest Arkansas since I was 10 years old. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. I’m currently working on my Master of Arts in Teaching at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. I’m set to graduate in December of 2022.

In my free time I enjoy spending time riding my bike on the greenway or on the mountain bike trails. I’m currently riding a Trek Stache 7, it has been my favorite bike so far. I also enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy grilling over the weekends.

I love sports- of course I love the hogs. Woo Pig! I think we are going to have a great season in football this year. I also enjoy watching Formula 1, Soccer, Rugby, and the occasional Baseball game.

I look forward to interning and being part of the team at Bernice Young Elementary.

Mini-Wild Dog Races are back

Har-Ber & Springdale High School will be hosting our 6th Annual Mini-Wild Dog XC Races this year!!

Races will begin at 4:15 on the following days:

Wednesday, 9/21 @ Har-Ber High

Wednesday, 10/12 @ Sonora Middle School

Wednesday, 10/26 @ Sonora Middle School

Entry fees are $5 which covers ALL three race days!

Coach Mitchell or the office will have entry forms! You can also print from here. We had lots of runners last year and won some awards. Let's get more this year! The best option is to return forms/money to school so that we can sign your child up in advance. *Parents provide transportation and supervision at the race*

8/29- We are on week 3 of the lunch menu. See below.

Kindergarten will have Choice 1 on Monday and Choice 2 the remainder of the week.

You will be notified if you owe lunch money for your child. You can send money to the school OR use the online system. The online system is the most efficient way. If you need your student's ID number please email Stephanie Mounce at smounce@sdale.org.

You can also apply for lunch benefits in the same online system. You can do this as a guest OR create an account. Click on picture to link to the online site.
