Parents and Families Newsletter
2025 - 2026 School Year
Dear Families,
Dear Students, Families, and Staff,
As we approach the Christmas holiday break, we want to pause and say a heartfelt thank you. This has been a busy semester filled with learning, growth, and new experiences. We are grateful for:
· Our students, who show curiosity and resilience each day
· Our families, who support learning at home and partner with us
· Our staff, who pour their hearts into teaching, leading, and caring
This season is a wonderful time to slow down, reflect, and recharge together.
From our school family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas, a restful break, and a happy, healthy New Year.
With gratitude and renewed hope,
Dr. Karen Roseboro
Superintendent

🎁 A Season of Gratitude
The holidays remind us to notice the “little things” that matter most:
· A kind word from a classmate
· A teacher who takes extra time to help
· A family member who shows up to a game, concert, or event
We encourage families to take a moment over the break to share what they are thankful for. A simple routine could be:
At dinner or bedtime, have each person name one thing they’re grateful for that happened that day.
These small conversations build big connections.
📚 Keep Reading All Break Long
While we hope everyone rests and has fun, we also know that reading even a little bit each day keeps students’ minds sharp and ready for January.
Here are a few easy ideas:
· Family Reading Time: Choose a book and read a chapter together each night.
· Read What You Love: Comics, magazines, novels, recipes, sports articles—reading is reading!
· Visit Your Local Library: Many libraries offer winter reading challenges and free events for children and teens.
· Set a Simple Goal: For example, “I will read for 15 minutes a day” or “I will finish one book over the break.”
Encouraging students to read for joy helps them grow as learners and thinkers.
🎯 Looking Ahead: Renewed Focus in the New Year
When we return to school in January, we will come back with a renewed focus on:
· Strong attendance and being on time each day
· Giving our best effort in class
· Meeting academic and behavior goals
· Showing kindness and respect in all areas of school life
Families can help students prepare by:
· Re-establishing bedtimes and morning routines a few days before school starts
· Talking with your child about their goals for the new quarter/semester
· Checking in on assignments, reading logs, and upcoming projects
Together, we can make the new year a time of growth, focus, and success.---
