NES Parent Newsletter 04/06/26
April 6, 2026

Dear NES Families,
Our 4th grade students recently had an incredible opportunity to learn about the rich history of Okeechobee. With the guidance of Magi Cable and Dowling Watford, students visited several important local landmarks, including the Livestock Market, the historic schoolhouse and museum, the log cabin, Lake Okeechobee, City Hall, and the courthouse. It was a meaningful, hands-on experience that truly brought history to life!
We loved seeing so many families participate in the Math Carnival on Wednesday night. We had a little "extra" excitement and fun getting to witness Artemis II take off! Thank you to all who attended!
We are also excited to celebrate Assistant Principal Week April 6-10 as we continue welcome Mr. Hickman, our new assistant principal. If you see him around campus, be sure to share a smile, a high five, and a big thank you for all he does for our school community!
In addition, students have been working hard preparing for the upcoming Battle of the Books competition on April 10th. We are proud of their dedication and look forward to seeing their efforts shine on competition day.
Please remember there is no school tomorrow, April 3, in observance of the holiday. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and restful three-day weekend!
Have a blessed weekend!
Mrs. Jessica Lowe
