CTMS Family Newsletter

Wonderful Wolf Families,

Thank you to all of our families and CTMS PTA for showering the staff with love on Thursday! The dessert bar was a sweet treat enjoyed by all! THANK YOU!

Texas weather is keeping us on our toes this month! With the cold mornings and classrooms of varying temperatures, we encourage our wolves to dress in layers for school. CTMS doors open each morning at 7:45 a.m., dress appropriately for the morning weather.

Ask your wolf for their interim scores. Some were sent on home on Thursday, the rest are coming home on Tuesday. Interims are practice STAAR tests, with around 20 questions each, that provide predictions on how students in Texas will perform on April's STAAR tests.

Happy four day weekend! We look forward to welcoming the wolves back to CTMS on Tuesday!

Howl,

Jamie Halliburton

Wolf in the Rink

We are thrilled to share some exciting news about of our very own wolf who will be representing her team at the prestigious Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament! Olivia Filson from Cross Timbers Middle School, along with Cole Priesand from Colleyville Middle School, Simon Hickey from iUniversity Prep, will be part of this incredible event, which is widely regarded as the pinnacle of minor hockey tournaments worldwide.

The tournament takes place in the beautiful city of Quebec, utilizing the Videotron Center and the Pavillon Guy-Lafleur. Each year, it hosts 120 teams from around the world, providing young athletes with an unforgettable experience. We are especially proud that the Texas Jr. Brahmas 12U AA team is the first Texas team to receive an invitation in over a decade. Coach Dave Ambler describes this tournament as the "Little League World Series of 12-year-old hockey," giving us a perspective on just how significant this opportunity is.

While this team has traveled far before, this journey promises to be their most thrilling adventure yet. Please join me in congratulating Olivia and her teammates for their hard work and dedication in and outside of school. We wish them the best of luck as they embark on this remarkable experience!

Secondary Grading Policy

Click here to see the updated secondary grading policy from GCISD. All wolf pack teachers will be following this policy this school year to communicate the progress of each wolf.

Here is the link for the 2024-2025 GCISD Student/Parent Handbook and Code of Conduct :https://www.gcisd.net/o/gcisd/page/studentparent-handbook.

GCISD's Student-Parent Handbook contains information that students, parents and staff are likely to need during the school year. In addition, both students and parents need to be familiar with the Student Code of Conduct. Both students and parents should become familiar with the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District Student Code of Conduct, which is a document adopted by the board and intended to promote school safety and an atmosphere for learning.

Updated ID Practice

Starting Wednesday, November 6th, we will implement a new CTMS practice for forgotten wolf IDs. As a reminder, the wearing of student IDs is part of the GCISD dress codes and outlined in the student code of conduct. We want to ensure consistency and encourage responsibility among our wolves, so each wolf will begin with a fresh start on this date.

The updated practice is as follows:

  1. First forgotten ID: Verbal warning.
  2. Second forgotten ID: Lunch detention.
  3. Third forgotten ID: Two lunch detentions.
  4. Fourth forgotten ID: Parent phone call, and a replacement ID will be automatically charged to the wolf's Skyward account.
  5. Fifth forgotten ID: In-school suspension (ISS) for repeated dress code offenses.

Additionally, please note that failure to return temporary IDs will result in lunch detention.

All wolves receive IDs, free of charge, on picture day. For those wolves who join the pack after picture day, they receive IDs when registering. Replacement IDs can be purchased from Ms. Richards in the front office before school or during lunch daily.

Thank you for your support in helping our wolves build good habits and follow GCISD expectations!
