Principal’s Monthly Update – October 2026

Dear Eagle Creek Families,

What a fantastic start to the school year! We have so much to celebrate already, and I am incredibly proud of the energy, joy, and sense of community I see throughout Eagle Creek each day.

We kicked off the year with an energetic schoolwide assembly, generously sponsored by our PTO. Basketball Jones inspired and energized our students and staff with messages about responsibility, believing in yourself, and the power of putting your mind to something and giving it your best. There was plenty of laughter and fun, but also some important reminders about the choices we make each day.

Speaking of together...we officially have a new schoolwide theme: Better Together! This theme captures so much of what makes Eagle Creek special. Every student, staff member, and family plays an important role in our school community, and when we support one another, celebrate one another, and work together, we make Eagle Creek stronger. Everyone Counts at Eagle Creek!

October also brings one of our favorite traditions—the PTO Fun Run! This is our PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year and a wonderful opportunity for our students and families to come together, have fun, and support our school. I am already looking forward to seeing our students' excitement, determination, and school spirit on Fun Run day!

Thank you for helping us make this such a fantastic start to the year. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this Eagle Creek community, and I can't wait to see all that we accomplish together. We are truly Better Together!

Maud Hart Lovelace Award Nominees 2027

Attention 3rd, 4th and 5th graders

This year’s Maud Hart Lovelace nominees are underway and available in the Learning Commons for your child to check out. They are also available at the Shakopee Public Library. If your child reads at least 3 of the 10 nominated titles and passes the quiz for each book, they will be able to join in the fun at the MHL Voting Party held at the end of March. October Updates from your PTO

We had so much fun seeing all our families return to Eagle Creek during ‘Connect and Asses’, and at the ‘Back-to-School Picnic’! It was truly a fabulous evening, and I know many of you enjoyed seeing all our other Eagle Creek families. We are very excited for an amazing year as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Eagle Creek throughout the year! We had a great kickoff to our school year when our PTO hosted all School Assembly of Corey “Basketball” Jones. The students and staff loved it, and it was a great way to celebrate the theme of the year “Better Together!” We are looking forward to all the fun events.

Fun Run

FUN RUN kickoff packets were distributed for the Fun Run, taking place on Friday, October 9th, which includes your Red Envelope for collecting funds, a parent information guide with key dates, pledge form, and prize sheet. We encourage all donations and have an assortment of fun prizes to celebrate your students’ fundraising success. Please ensure your student is registered on mybooster.com, as they will receive a mystery prize just by registering. Cash and Checks are preferred, if possible, as credit cards require additional fees paid for with our earnings. As it is our biggest fundraiser of the year, we encourage setting goals for each student to reach our $40,000 goal. Achieving our goal will ensure that we will continue to support events, field trips/busing, and activities at school for our students and staff. Culvers Dine Out Night

We have our first dine out night coming up on October 27th from 4-8pm at Culvers in Shakopee. All sales during this timeframe, Dine-In or Drive-Thru, will result in dollars contributed back to Eagle Creek. Kids can help clean up tables, and adults can help run food to drive thru tables. Kindness in Chalk

The PTO, along with the teacher and staff, will host ‘Kindness in Chalk’ during the school day on October 6th. Students will take a break outside with their class and decorate the upper and lower levels with Kind Messages and pictures, celebrating our school theme, ‘Better Together’.
